If, as i think he will, Ash goes in the summer, then weobviously have to do the best deal for us.For me.

Arse......swap for Walcott, or£10m plus Gibbs.

  Ure.......£12m plus J Evans.

  Chelsk........£20/25m, cash only deal.Or Sturridge plus £10m

  Citeeh.........Johnson.

  Otherwise keep him

blf i like your valuation of ash but lets be realistic -he has 1 year left on his contract and the asking price and paying price will be around £12m, no one would pay crazy money when he would be available for free a year later.

I know it was only Crawley, but I was impressed with Gibson on Saturday.  I always knew he had a good shot on him, but his passing was very good and it seems his natural position is that advanced midfield/behind the striker role Ash may be vacating in the summer.  Plus at 23 he has time on his side so could improve improve.

Drawbacks are whether or not he's really any better than Delph or Bannan?  Not sure on that one, but he does seem more comfortable further up the pitch whereas they seem to both be more 'all rounders', especially Delph.

If Ash does go to Man Utd, I think getting Gibson might turn out to be a shrewd move.

i have never rated gibson.. a powerful shot that sometimes goes in but more often than not hits the corner flag, is all the kid has to his game... he reminds me of sidwell only without the energy to run around like a headless chicken...

Chelsea and Man Utd after Villa's 15-year-old 'whizzkid' Jordan Graham, according to the People (I think).

i would be most pissed off if jordan graham left us after the work we have put into the kid over the past 10 years...

I thought he looked very ordinary.

Not as bad as Obertan and Bebe, mind!

Apparently Redknapp has ruled out any move for Walker according to the Express and Star or Evening Mail (can't remember which one)

Redknapp said at the time there was never any chance of walker leaving spurs, it was all about him gaining premier experience , unless we offered him a crazy deal - maybe part of a swap with ash but I don't think it's likely- walker will be a spurs regular next season .

10 years? That would mean he's been at Villa since he was 5, please tell me he hasn't.

my mistake.. he has been at the villa since 9 years old... 6 years at the villa...

and salsa party animal, he is a winger who is blessed with extremely quick feet, great pace, and for a 15 year old, he is huge...

he has been involved in the u18 squad at the villa and has been fast tracked along with the likes of jack grealish... who again, is another exciting prospect who can handle the rough and tumble due to his experiences with gaelic football...

How about this then, it is from talksport though

Quote
Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Barcelona outcast Gabriel Milito and hope to snap him up for free in the summer.

The defender has fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp and has only started three La Liga matches all season with Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol the preferred partnership at centre-back.

And, according to reports in Spain, Milito is set to quit the club at the end of the summer, with Villa among a host of clubs interested in signing him.

But Villa do not want to pay a fee for the Argentine defender, 30, who is contracted to Barcelona until 2012, and hope to agree a deal to take him for free in the summer.

Milito was very good before his serious knee injury in 2007 but he's struggled to get a regular place since.

Gibson is just another Sidwell...sometimes scores goals and does nothing else. Stay well clear.

Sidwell is like a transformed player at Fulham, MOM arguably at Villa Park two weeks ago

Another case of player mismanagement down B6 ?

I don't buy into this mismanagement quite so much. For younger players, some need a comforting arm round the shoulder, some need a kick up the arse. That is man-management. For experienced pros like Sidwell, they should be capable of motivating themselves when they are playing for the Greatest Club in World Football.
