If, as i think he will, Ash goes in the summer, then weobviously have to do the best deal for us.For me.

Arse......swap for Walcott, or£10m plus Gibbs.

  Ure.......£12m plus J Evans.

  Chelsk........£20/25m, cash only deal.Or Sturridge plus £10m

  Citeeh.........Johnson.

  Otherwise keep him

None of those are going to happen, not least because swap deals at the top are incredible rare.

Chelsea and Man Utd after Villa's 15-year-old 'whizzkid' Jordan Graham, according to the People (I think).

If Young goes then it should be a straight cash deal. The Ireland fiasco should be enough to show the folly of letting clubs fob us off with one of their cast offs.

Moyes is good at building difficult to beat sides but hasn't shown an ability to go beyond that. When you think of Everton words line efficient and effective come to mind but never exciting. It could be argued that he hasn't had the money but he has had a far bit and he's had something most managers don't get - time.

I'd rather stick with what we have.

In fairness our most consistant finishes over the last 10 years e.g. 6th and 7th consecutively have been under managers who've been good at that like Gregory and MON.

It's when we've tried to go beyond that and enhance the football, things have gone tits up.

I know it's opening a can of worms, and as much as Moyes hasn't had as much money as some of his counterparts, he has been quite wasteful at times. There are few managers in the PL that are better at spotting a bargain, but a bit like Wenger, give him big money to spend on one or two players I'd be worried. He really hasn't signed a top forward in the time he's been at the club, and he's signed the likes of Beattie, Fellaini, Yakubu, Kroldrup, Johnson for big money. It will be very interesting if he does leave and go to a club that gives him a decent transfer budget to see what he does.

I'm not a huge fan of Felliani but he does have his moments when he looks brilliant, just not consistant. A bit like Stewart Downing.

Beattie was 6m wasn't he and Kroldrup was 5m so give a take a million and it's just like us signing Marlon Harewood, Zat Knight or Nicky Shorey.

Yes, but he can play and he always fucking gets away with it so I'd be tempted.

It's when we've tried to go beyond that and enhance the football, things have gone tits up.

The obvious difference of course being that Moyes has already overseen one 4th, one fifth and two 6th placed finishes despite other sides (ourselves included after 2006) spending more.

Whereas the best both Gregory and MON could manage was 6th.

What you're looking for in football -especially in the current financial climate- is a guy who can exceed expectations, deliver more with less. And Moyes has a decent track record in that regard. Both Gregory and MON delivered about par (or slightly below) results and finishes with the finances available. Good rather than great.

The argument against Moyes is that most of those highlights occurred earlier into his career there (the best being almost 6 years ago now) and he hasn't delivered a trophy of any sort.

I agree about Fellaini but I certainly wouldn't have him over Milner. While he's a good player, it was a lot of money to spend on one player if you're meant to be broke. Same with the other two in some respects. While it's on par with us signing the players you mentioned, the difference was we could afford it, whereas given Everton's finances, Moyes was taking a much bigger risk.
