Why are we so dismal when it comes to passing a football?

That's the thing, though, we're not.

We're quite good at it, and attacking, too. The problem is that in defence, we're like a schoolboy team, all chasing the ball witlessly

We're good at tapping it around among ourselves and making little headway with it and causing the opposition few real problems, I'll give you that.

We've created lots of chances. We just haven't taken them.

Meanwhile, at the back, they're all sitting around sipping cocktails.

I'm doing a Guardian chalkboard about how many fucking times their keeper has been crossed/passed to by a Villa player.

We should have scored so many, I wish some chances would fall to Bent.

Gabby a left winger... do me a favour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he isn't playing on the left wing though. He's playing left of centre.

He has just run all thye way down the left wing and because he has not got a left foot, he has had to stop and check inside to lose the ball and then to compound it gives away a stupid free-kick. Oh by the way what the heck is 'left of centre'?

Composure and final ball have cost us a game winning lead at half time.

Did you see the space he got from the left to erm.... score the goal?

great effort from Downing. Just wide

Oh, but no, he's rubbish, he doesn't go into tackles like Mark Dennis on speed.

He's our best player by a mile today.

He could score three and there will be those battering him for not being Shaun Teale.

Maybe expectations are too high. I'd just be happy if he could cross a ball.
