Always had a feeling it was going to be Houghton when Di Matteo was booted out. It's a Jeremy Peace appointment all over. I hope he keeps them up though, an away game 3 miles from home is always nice once a season.

if true a very good appointment for them

An Albion supporting mate of mine was right when he said it's a sideways step for them. At the time Newcastle sacked Hughton they were pretty much in the same position as Albion.

Don't see how he's any better than Di Matteo.

Both managers got promoted last season, although Newcastle had a much stronger squad and both work with supporters who are completely unrealistic arseholes.

And I think Albion spanked Newcastle 3-1 just before Christmas  (which was Hughton's last game in charge).

Neither hughton or di matteo deserved to be sacked , after getting promotion the least they deserved was to have a season to try and keep them up and both were clear of the relegation zone when sacked.
