I see the next twelve as  W4 D5 L3 which means 17 points and a total of 46 for the season. Enough to stay up.

That feels about right. I think it will be a bit of a grind. Considering I have wanted the season to be over since about the end of August, it makes no bloody difference to me

So a shaky start to the "easy 11"

Blackpool away next, can't see us getting anything there based on our defending. They crete lots of chances, I think we'll have to score 3 to win
Thats the thing. Our defense is always likely to concede so really we have to outscore the opposition until its sorted out. Good viewing for neutrals but not for us.

A ten match unbeaten run with our flaky defence and a keeper who alernates between worldbeater and Scott Carson?

Not a prayer.

Is it any more unbelievable than your prediction of only one defeat in that sequence? The only realy difference between our predictions is that you've thrown in a loss to Bolton, whereas I've said a draw.

I was alreayd being hopelessly optimistic with my predictions. I just don't see the confidence there to go on a run with zero defeats. Our not holding onto leads thing being the most frustrating and predictable thing.

So we're both being hopelessly optimistic? I think we can agree on that. But if you're going to call out my post, then you can't say that there's no chance of mine happening if yours isn't that disimilar.

Just as an aside, I'd sooner we went on a run of wins and losses that consecutive draws anyway. We really only need another 12 points to be certain of staying up, and I'd rather we didn't draw our way to safety, even if it means staying unbeaten.

I wasn't calling you out on anything beyond saying that 11 matches unbeaten is incredibly unliklely.

Blackpool - 1pt
Blackburn -3pts
Bolton - 0pts
Wolves - 3pts
Everton - 0pts
Newcastle - 1pt
West Ham - 0pts
Stoke - 1pt
West Brom - 1pt
Wigan - 3pts

If we don't manage 13 points from those games we'll deserve to be in trouble. As things stand I don't think our defensive game is good enough to get any more than that.

I do worry that we might need to get something from those last two games.

We really need to sort ourselves out defensively, or we'll be forever consistently inconsistent.

We really need to sort ourselves out defensively, or we'll be forever consistently inconsistent.

Yesterday, at 2-1, you just knew we were going to let it slip.

When you find yourselves with that kind of inevitability hanging around you, there's clearly something very wrong defensively.

Fulham were absolutely shite, other than the goals, I can barely remember them even trying to score. Yesterday, we conspired to wrestle the other two points from ourselves.

We passed the ball around excellently at times, and the players looked confident in other areas of the pitch, but we really must stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

I said during the game yesterday, by the start of next season I can only see Collins still being in the side, and that is at a push. I think the entire back 4 will be overhauled come the summer, and quite rightly.

Yeah I fully expect a new keeper, pair of full backs and centre half.

Samba, Westwood, Baines and Walker signed permanently with Cuellar promoted to CB alongside Samba.  That'd do me.
