If the manager sticks to Saturday’s tactics then:

Blackpool v Aston Villa - Lose
Aston Villa v Blackburn - Draw
Bolton v Aston Villa - Lose
Aston Villa v Wolverhampton - Win
Everton v Aston Villa - Lose
Aston Villa v Newcastle - Draw
West Ham v Aston Villa - Draw
Aston Villa v Stoke - Draw
West Brom v Aston Villa - Draw
Aston Villa v Wigan – Draw

9 points.

I really like Collins and would see him and Clark forming a good partnership.  Collins as the big 'head it kick it' physical defender and Clark covering behind him with better on the ball ability.  Hopefully either Dunne or Cuellar will stay as experienced cover.  Then two attacking fullbacks are needed, whith hopefully one of them being Walker.

I really don't get the clamouring for Walker's signature.  He can't defend for toffee and he is a defender!!!  I wouldn't mind him staying on IF and only IF GH can teach the lad how to defend and how to cross a ball otherwise I'd send him back to candleface.  If he does well enough for Houllier to want to sign him then he will be going back there anyway.  We wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell of signing him if he impresses.

It is early days for Walker, as poster above said, he's also somewhat suspect defensively, which concerns me. Let's see how he goes.

I remember most of us were clamouring for Carson to be signed permanently a few years ago (I know I was), then he had his Croatia clanger and looked progressively worse after that.

Unfortunately, if Walker does really well, Spurs won't sell him in any case, so i don't know how much of a long term possibility he is for us

I really have no clue how we will go over the next 10 games. I thought Man City would give us a hiding and that we would cruise to victory against Fulham.

I just hope we have enough points not to need anything from the last couple of games.

My predictions were

Aston Villa v Fulham - 3pts
Blackpool v Aston Villa - 3pts
Aston Villa v Blackburn - 3pts
Bolton v Aston Villa - 1pt

We've actualy got half the points I thought we would.
It's grim.

At least the finances off the pitch are healthy......oh.

We've got to sort the defence out pronto - only the Baggies and Blackpool have conceded more goals than us and if we keep that up we WILL go down.

I agree Adam, but we keep saying it and it's the same old same old.
What the fuck are they doing about it on the training ground?

My thoughts exactly - the vast majority of our goals conceded recently have come from set-pieces.  You'd expect any defensive coach would spend the majority of their time on practising defending set-pieces.

Amateur.

Do we have a defensive coach?

I agree the evidence suggests we don't but surely a club like ours with an £80m wage bill or whatever it is, can afford to employ a defensive coach?!

I wouldn't call him defensive but he can be a bit prickly when under pressure.
