If only those two Sunderland results had gone our way as they should have, then the whole picture would be very different.

Success/Failure has a very fine line.....I think 7th or 8th for us if we continue to improve

I would be happy with top ten considering where we are and what's gone on before the season started, i don't think we will get anything from OT but the rest of them seem winnable.

Won't it be great if we finish 6th and get to Wembley, it'll be just like old times.

Well, last year anyway.   :)

In conclusion:
6th is possible, but so is 16th and the two may only be 2 or 3 wins apart.

This is very true.  My biggest concern is what our points to game ratio is between the Man City game and the end of the season.  That is a guage of how good we are with Bent, Gezza's othjer signings and him having a full squad to pick from.  If that's top 6 form, or even top 4, it won't matter exactly where we finish as it'll point to what we can expect next season.

back to back wins do not make a 6th place finish.

It's not about that though is it?  I don't think anyone is suggesting that we are now a shoe in for 6th because of the last 2 games.  It isn't just 2 wins it's Darren Bent arriving, Jean Makoun coming in, players returning from injury AND 2 wins, one of which over a title challenging team that we NEVER seem to beat.  It is interesting to see us just 3 points off 7th compared to where we were 4 days ago.  Why can't we have a bit of optimism now to help lift the gloom?   Particularly with our run in.   :)

I'm just glad that we're not as lightly to stagnate around the March/April time as we have in recent years.

3 points off 7th now and if arsenal win league cup then 7th could qualify for Europe if fa cup is won by a top 4 team , let's aim high and see where we get!

I'd prefer to win it ourselves (and finish 6th). All things are possible

How marvellously insightful.

It would take a lot of things to go almost perfectly between now and the end of the season to finish sixth, so while I don't expect it to happen I don't think we should rule it out.

Villa fans are very fickle. Aren't we?

Can we ban the F word? I'm sick of seeing it! (no offense to you by the way)

I'd take a top 8 finish now but I reckon we may end up in  the 9-12th area!
