That was a very special moment, especially for the lad involved.

I like Carew and think he started well for us.  Recently though, oh dear.........

I know you liked him Pauline otherwise you wouldn't have been trying to look at his todger on the train that time....

I bet supporters of every club he played for said the same as us,done well, but could've achieved even more. Hopefully he'll score for Stoke against teams like Sunderland,Blackpool,Blues etc.

Good luck big man. When he was on song he was great and lifted the whole place, will have far more good memories than bad of his time here.

Shame, he could have been a legend but finished up being a bellend.

Sad to see a holte hero leave, Im glad he's leaving now though...I think the injurys have taken their tole on him this season and weve seen the best of him. I will remember him fondly from his time here. He will get a good reception if he ever makes it back here.

cheerio and good luck big man....

Not bad for a free transfer (Baros' value = £0) but I just wish he'd put a bit more effort in at times.  When he was on fire, he was unplayable.

Can only see him staying at stoke till the end of the season then abroad for his last big deal, Turkey or USA?

Carew had some high points during his time here but my abiding memory will be the 2nd half at Reading in the cup last season - on his day Carew was fantastic but sadly his day was all too rare, a good player for us but he could have been a great player.

Good luck John like many of you have said on here on his day he was immense and a joy to watch but injuries and loss of form meant it was inevitable he was going to leave but he will get a good reception if he does come back to Villa Park but like i've said before Good luck John Carew he's bigger than me and you.

Especially because I spent the first 45 mins thinking 'get him off the pitch', then he put in one of the greatest 15 mins I'd seen anyone put in for many a moon. A true Carew cameo, I expect many a Lyon and Valencia fan had the same feelings about him when he moved on.

Could have been a euro football legend, but Carew got in the way.

Exit stage left another what-might-have-been.

He's taken the piss for the last eighteen months.

On recent form he won't be missed, although the immutable law of the ex will inevitably raise its head the next time we play Stoke.
