I don't think we were underdogs that day.

Nah, Leeds never had a chance and the lead-up suggested as much.

Got to be Witheys goal against the baggies in `81, if ever a goal - possibly Rotterdam apart, was crucial it was that one, crap game, Baggies kickin lumps off anything in Claret n Blue, 0-0 written all over it, league championship on its way to Portman road and everyone knew it - until, 4 minutes from time, a Baggies attack breaks down, Rimmer punts it  downfield - straight to Baggies defender Brendan Batson, what followed is blasted into the memory, Batson plays ball back to Tony Godden, but hasnt seen Withey doing what good strikers do, chasing it down, he lifts the ball with one touch straight over Godden, and into an empty net, queue absolute mayhem, championship back on again, never ever forget that goal long as il live.

I have written about this goal/match a few times but it keeps coming up for me over the years.
The noise that greeted that goal was incredible - a Baggie acquaintance who was there said it was frightening

The other one I remember for the reaction was Sir C Nicholl's at Old Trafford in the LC Final (x3) '77. We were on the side at the other end (near the Everton). The lads went so mad I only just got back up as Sir B of the Little rolled in the second. I did not see that goal for nearly 20 years when I bought the video!

I remember that goal pretty clearly. As the ball went over Godden's head I can remember thinking it didn't have the legs to cross the line. There were 2 Olbion players chasing it down one might have been Peter Barnes, maybe the other was Statham. Funny I can remember us doing nothing for 80 mins until Sir Dennis had a shot parried by Godden from about 20 yards. We seemed to click into gear after that. That baggies side was pretty decent. I think they did us the year after in the Quarter final of the league cup. Having said that we were down to 10 men after Tony Morely got himself sent off afetr the half time whistle. If any of you know Tony and the circumstances behind it can you please find out why and let me know. It's one of life's great mysteries to me.

At games I've been at 3 stick in the mind (from recent years).
Zat against Arsenal, I swear I moved 2 blocks across the Holte when that went in. Great end to (I would suggest) our best performance in years.
Gabby at the Sty in the 1-0. I lost my watch in the crush and badlam when it went in, found it, and then lost it again at full-time.
And Gabby at OT, though it was followed up by immediate nerves, full-time was a relief as much as a celebration.

Any of the five against Liverpool in 1976.
Disbelief at it all.
Liverpool seemed unbeatable in those days.
Ah yes. What a night. After the match we went up town and sat in The Costermonger in stunned silence with stupid grins all over our faces. ;D
In one of the next mornings papers Bob Paisley said " At least we managed to draw the second half 0 - 0"

Though it came to nothing, when Collymore scored against Madrid,it was the loudest I've known it in my time of going to VP.

Phil King was a good shout earlier

howabout the 4th and 5th at home to Everton in 1989/90...the Holte went absolutely bonkers celebrating those two!!

Brian Moore in raptures "it's astonishing this!...They can't believe it on the terraces!"

As far as going absolutley mental is concerned, I cant decide between

Savo at Blackburn 95

Savo at Wembley 96

Daley at West Brom in the cup 1990

Collymore v Athletico

I went especially batshit crazy for all of those. I dont lose control as much nowadays, now i'm older and less drunk.

I'm gonna put forward a Tony Daley goal vs Manchester City at Christmas 1991. I havent seen it for years so i'll have to dig out the old video. Anyway, if memory serves there's a flick on from Cyrille Regis and Daley hits it on the volley in front of the Holte. A bit like Krancjar's goal on Saturday. Quality goal and the whole ground went beserk.

Savo's equalizer at home to Newcastle in 1997 after we were 2-0 down. A pity then that Yorke blew the chance to make it 3-2 when he shot his penalty tamely at Shaka Hislop to deny us the victory. Bittersweet emotions from that game.

The Daley goal v Man City is on here.
