More pearls of wisdom from Wolves Media:

"£40m including wages on one single player. Does Bent represent value for money?"

"Randy Lerner, does he recoup the money by selling Young/Downing?"

"Will Gabby/Ash be chuffed with Bent's 80k a week"

To be fair Roger the Villa caller is giving incredibly reasoned answers, saying MON would have shelled £18m for McGeady. Presenter was left sounding like a idiot.

Do you mean Radio WeloveMartin?

Did he mention the other 2 strikers? I heard him mention fonz and gabby , he still has problems saying agbonlahor - gerard looks like the cat that got the cream, I'm pleased for him- would sky have left the press conference had it been spurs or Chelsea ?

Great text from Andy in Gloucester on 5Live - something along the lines of 'you're all just bitter about Villa showing some ambition. Proven goalscorer's cost a lot of money - look at Drogba etc etc'.

And then Danny Mills proved his point immediately by saying he thought it was from 'Randy in Gloucester'.

Man City spend, what, 28m on some Bosnian who has done ok in Germany = no big deal

Chelsea spend 18m on Ramires who turns out to be absolutely fucking toilet = no big deal

Liverpool spend 17m on Aquilani who tanks = no big deal

Aston Villa spend 18m on the player who has scored more PL goals than anyone bar two players over the last five years = boo hoo, wailing and general bitchiness.

Gutted they left it early.

Tsk.. could have started on time Villa!!! Just not good enough, shakes head....

Not even a 2nd player there either, had to make do with a club record centre forward with a better strike rate than 90% of the forwards in the league. Gutted.

Seriously, what a brilliant signing, brilliant day and brilliant moment for Gerard. He looked bloody elated, and fair play to him. Vision for the club, not the next game. Good stuff.

Is he any better than what we got, or just buy him for the sake of it and let him sit it out in the reserves for 5 years, the smelly blue nose shitebag :)
