Magnificant show of intent, a genuine quality player at the right age who we won't be worrying will be leaving for a 'bigger club' in 3 or 4 years, because we will be getting him in his peak. And he's not over the hill either. Does this mean we have finally truely arrived under Lerner?

Listening to Paul Franks on the radio

Him and his 'reporter' outside didn't understand where the money had come from and played "what if" saying had MON had £24m would he have stayed?

WM - THE station for lazy journalists

Keane, Mcgready and Jenas

Shudder.

or bought 3 more defenders  ;-)

I'm not having a go at their fans, I've met some nice ones. That doesn't mean they are a big club. In any case, interesting shirt number for Darren.

39  means 39 goals next season  ;-D

He's going to play Left Back and Centre Forward!

Forgot to post this. Did anyone else hear the SSN honey wondering aloud how bent would adapt to stepping up again in the premier league earlier?

How many goals will he get before the season is out? 10+ hopefully... Miraculous winning run and we get 6th on the last day of the season ;) Happy days.

More pearls of wisdom from Wolves Media:

"£40m including wages on one single player. Does Bent represent value for money?"

"Randy Lerner, does he recoup the money by selling Young/Downing?"

"Will Gabby/Ash be chuffed with Bent's 80k a week"

To be fair Roger the Villa caller is giving incredibly reasoned answers, saying MON would have shelled £18m for McGeady. Presenter was left sounding like a idiot.

Woe, woe - thrice woe. I might as well be consistent.

:) Good taste in comedies, anyway.

this is amazing,  young and downing whiping the balls in from the wings,  makoun flowing the balls to bents feet,  this is brilliant.   why would young want to leave villa now when we make a massive signing like this.  all them balls he puts into the box which gabby, carew and ivanhoe SOMEHOW fucking dont score will now be scored by mr bent.  this is brilliant.  FINALLY we have a goalscorer since yorke left.

And on Oniell,  i bet he is fucking gutted and i bet this has really kicked his big headed i am mr fantastic ego down to earth.

Learner didnt give you the money cause he had none or was tight, he just didnt want you to waste the money of 6 average players.

Little dig about a 'manageable wage bill' there.
