How did you find Malta & Gozo Dave?

Very enjoyable WV thanks, especially as I didn't particularly want to go there.  It was Mrs S that wanted to go; and I'm glad she did.  They have a great history, the people are very friendly, it isn't too expensive to eat out and the beer is reasonably priced.  €3.20 a pint in the pub near to the hotel we were staying in.

The weather is great, between 30 and 33 degrees all the time we were there except the day we returned when it froze at 27!  Mrs S loved it and wants to return only she says for ten days next time.  The place has some stunning scenery.  We did all the touristy things but if we do return I'd consider hiring a car for a day or two so that we could linger longer in some of the places we visited on the organised tours.

Gozo is a must too, a half hour ferry trip from the north end of Malta at a cost of €9.30 return per person.  Much the same as Malta only smaller.  You can see the Arab, Italian, British and Spanish influences in the architecture too.  Malta is a place that I would recommend for a holiday if you have never been before.

Another go that I hope works.  If it does it's down to the generosity of PeterWithesShin who did it for me after I took up his kind offer to help the aged!

Nice pic Dave - carrying a bit of timber, I see (Who's the fella in the Villa shirt next to you?!) ;)

Sure am carrying a bit of timber Mr E.  Would you believe that when I was 19 I weighed in at 19 stone 8 lbs.  I've been up and down ever since but never to the stage where I was carrying Epping Forest around with me like back then.

The one standing next to me is the wife!  *runs for cover*

no offence intended.

My Stevie Wonder/Mr Magoo impersonation is a pair of overglasses which are the best pair of sunglasses I've ever had, as clear as day.  A great purchase for fifteen euro from the chemist's here in town.

Delighted you enjoyed it! I've just booked the flights for 2 weeks next August, can't wait to return!

Here are the sacred colours on their way to the shops via the tourist-free route (at HT during the Hull "game").  The Albera Massif (beginning of the Pyrenees) in the distance is on the French-Spanish border. At just over 4100 feet the highest bit, Puig Neulós is almost Ben Nevis height. Those of you who have crossed into Spain just after Perpignan will have done so via Le Perthus or the motorway which is on the far right of the pic, just out of  sight.

Rozzers, note. I pulled over to snap the scene. ;-)

I was parked on the side of the road. That is my AVERAGE speed for the MONTH! (45 km/h).

It was also 26°C ;-)

Just watched Citizen Khan on BBC 1, one of the assistants at the Sparkhill Mosque was in a Villa shirt. The new Mosque manager (Dave) follows our team & tells Mr Khan, "up the Villa..." .Well done the series script writer I say !! (Adil Ray AKA Citizen Khan). AVFC4Ever

See 'How to...' in OT for a talk-through.
