How did you find Malta & Gozo Dave?

Very enjoyable WV thanks, especially as I didn't particularly want to go there.  It was Mrs S that wanted to go; and I'm glad she did.  They have a great history, the people are very friendly, it isn't too expensive to eat out and the beer is reasonably priced.  €3.20 a pint in the pub near to the hotel we were staying in.

The weather is great, between 30 and 33 degrees all the time we were there except the day we returned when it froze at 27!  Mrs S loved it and wants to return only she says for ten days next time.  The place has some stunning scenery.  We did all the touristy things but if we do return I'd consider hiring a car for a day or two so that we could linger longer in some of the places we visited on the organised tours.

Gozo is a must too, a half hour ferry trip from the north end of Malta at a cost of €9.30 return per person.  Much the same as Malta only smaller.  You can see the Arab, Italian, British and Spanish influences in the architecture too.  Malta is a place that I would recommend for a holiday if you have never been before.

If you're happy to have a bit of a walk Comino is also a great place to visit, my parents live over in Malta (in Qawra/Bugibba/St. Pauls Bay - depending on who you ask) so I've been there quite a few times.

From my experience -

If you like fish visit marsaslokk (I think that's the spelling) there are a few really good restaurants along there.
For a beach go to Gnejna Bay (Golden Bay in English) - it's right up in the north not far from the Gozo ferry but it's easily the best beach.
For a view visit Mdina - that's the old capital, it's a fully walled city on the highest point on the island, the view to the north is fantastic.
For a night out with bars and clubs you have to go to Paceville, everywhere else is small and quiet by comparison (which is good if that's what you're after).
If you're in Qawra and walk past the Red Lion on a sunday night there will be lots of people outside singing folk songs, my parents are likely to be amongst them.

Greetings from Bressanone/Brixen, in the region of Alto Adige / Sud Tirol, while our manager has deliberately chosen to come out from the FA cup.

Yesterday, for the first time I saw someone wearing a Villa shirt here in Dunedin, New Zealand.

I was so surprised I had to double back down the other side of the street to check my eyes weren't deceiving me.

Crossing a river bed in Eastern Botswana, following Elephant, and felt the need to put the shirt on. No, I dunno why either.
