PS.  HOULLIER WAS TOLD TO SIGN THAT PLAYER BY THE SCOUTS,  HOULLIER CANT TAKE THE CREDIT

Marvellous.
As if I was ever in doubt I can now officially declare you a clueless, shouty, dribbly twat.
Very, very funny! It made me a dribbly twat for a seccond!

Just got home after a great day out which has involved far too much beer ( and a few cans of cider), great company from all the lads I've met up with today from North West Villa (you know who you are), nice meal in the banyan tree back in manc, a nice couple of scoops in the Thirsty Scholar on Manchesters Oxford Road with accompanying soundtrack from DJ Martin the Mod ( can't beat that Northern Soul sound).  Oh and the football was good as well.

Sounds like a great day. Well done.

I had a great day, but i was disappointed at the low turn out by The Sheffield fans, which I think flattened the atmosphere abit.

But it was nice to have a good win away from home.

Was a great day out and refreshing to go to a proper traditional football ground a short walk from the City Centre.  Pretty sad that they couldn't sell more than 10k.

Not loving the constant barracking of the opposition and Blues by our fans.  Bit over the top if you ask me and wish we would concentrate on singing about the Villa.  However, good to take such massive support when we are struggling.

I thought the game summed up the season to date - we have the ability but lacking confidence and players don't seem to know what the tactics are.  Can't seem to dominate a game at all.

Good day out all in all. Would have snatched your hand off for 3-1 before the game.

Good day out, we started like a train and looked comfortable against a poor Sheffield team, we certainly lost our way in the second half until Downing came on with all the players holding onto the ball too long rather than pass the bleeding thing crisply.

Fantastic debut from Walker although I'll reserve judgement until he has faced a more testing team, he doesn't lack confidence though.

We really have some grade A idiots as fans though, I'm sure I was a right twat after a few ales when I was 17 so I can forgive them but some of the stuff shouted about Houlier, from people old enough to know better, was beyond the pale.

Good Win, more comfortable than a lot of people are making out.  Very enjoyable day all round and Sheffield certainly isn't a s**t hole - great pubs (certainly the three I was in anyway), thanks to Drummond and Joe's mate for the local knowledge.

It was a little nerve wracking to watch, but we won 3-1, away in what was a difficult game. A good cup match-Walker, Dunne and Albrighton were very good and I think as a team, we played fine. Lets build on it. Bolton at home for us in the next round i reckon

Not really bothered about the result (as discussed elsewhere) but a nice win all the same.

However after watching the game back, how much fitter does Walker look then the rest of our boys? I honestly don't think anyone of our lot could of scored that goal, good acceleration and kept up a great pace, he did it all game. When was the last time Young, Gabby, Downing have done that?

Our players just look knackered.

Can't think of a defender scoring on his debut before
Stuart Gray played left back every now and then but he was definitely in midfiled on his debut (Bardford away)
Didn't another debutant score that day too?  4-2 wasn't it?

4-2 yes, Andy Gray scored too and it was his debut, it was a fantastic game considering they were going so well at the time but we were awesome on the road that season.

Probably would have done more pubs but for Joe C's profound statement:

"We have a seat, there's the bar, we haven't tried all of the beers yet."

Can't argue with that logic.
