This is still the FA Cup for gods sake.  There is 8 days to the Blues games.

Strongest squad and all out to win.

What's the betting he plays the kids.
Albrighton and Bannon were like a breath of fresh air last night even for 2 or 3 minutes

Just a thought, as we've just slipped into the bottom three. When we were all given our claret "Proud History, Bright Future" scarves almost four years ago to great fanfare and feeling that something magical was going to happen, our opponents that day were none other than The Blades.

What an irony.
Do we get new scarves with Proud history/ iffy future?

It's just been announced on Sky that  the game has been switched to Hillsborough.
Due to the current mental state of the Villa fans, they will be given the Lemmings Lane stand.

2-0 Villa win.

Expect some experimentation with players positions from Houllier.

                                                          GK  Bannan

                           Young(A)         Albrighton         Agbonlahor        Carew

                      McAllister          Faulkner           Ireland(Cpt)              Collins

                                          Dunne
                                                              Friedel

V amusing, thanks!

"Boys tried hard blah blah...bad luck with decisions...lack cutting edge...need to keep clean sheets...owner fully supports me...Sheffield played well...concentrate on the league blah blah," said Houllier at 4.59pm on Saturday 8 January.

I will be singing loud and proud for 90 minuts, but if anyone starts singing Houllier's name if we're winning they're a fool. It was the same at Chelsea, slagging him off then singing Houllier's claret and blue army at 3-3, fuck that. Sing for the club and the players who give a shit, not overrated jumped up pricks like Ashley Young and not the clueless manager.

Got to go for a win with our strongest team. We need to get into a winning mentality with our 'usual' team and if we fuck this up against a poor Sheff Utd team we'll be spiralling even more out of control.

I'd go with:
Friedel;
Walker, Cuellar, Clark, Warnock (yeah, I know...);
Ash, NRC, Stan, Delph (if fit, Bannan if not), Downing;
Gabby

If nothing else it's a cheap day out - £12 for a ticket (did Villa subsidise the prices?)

Cup shock - Sheffield United to lose at home against Aston Villa

Can't wait to see the team selection - Carew & Ireland maybe to
be our Cup Heroes ?

Tricky tie even if we were doing ok at present - Blades have new
manager in Micky Adams and ARE scoring goals in most matches -

Ex Villan Jamie Ward to score odds on but surely we will be in the hat
for FA4 won't we ??

Doesn't bear thinking about if we fall at the first hurdle - could be messy

Just had a quick look at their forum, now I like to think im quite clued up on the lower leagues and football in general but seeing the team some of the posters are predicting has got me baffled, never heard of Lowton, Parrino, Bartley, Britten, Yeates, McAllister, Montgomerry, we must beat these

Must have, mine says £17 on it, and I only paid £12.
