They are cutting through us and especially in midfield.

We are also very poor in front of goal.

Of course they are.  We all knew that with that midfield they'd batter us but yet Houllier ddin't think so.  He is a terrible tactician with zero motivation, but hey, let's give him more time. Hmmm.

Would you sack him?

100% yes.  He is a dour, miserable, Liverpool supporting idiot with unblievabley piss poor tactics.  We are being battered by 10 men at home and he atill thinks that midfield is good enough.  Can't stand him.

So, in practical terms, Monday morning you call him into your office and you sack him.

Then what do you do?

Van der Vart is a ******. but the co-commentator is blaming Lichaj for "tugging" at him.

Silly me.

We are playing like a team with 9 men....

Need an experienced head in there...a midfield four of Downing, Hogg, Delph and Albrighton is too inexperienced and lightweight. We're still in this game and should be looking for a point at least against ten man Spurs.

Come on villa.

That last few minutes was painful, ten man spurs passing us to death. Hogg has to come off, he simply is not good enough for this level, he's a good trier but that is it. I think if we put Reo next to Delph and release Delph to be more attacking we'd be much better off.

Are Tottenham that good or are we that bad? Regardless of your views on how much they have spent we look like a team assembled for far, far less money than them which is not necessarily the truth.

I'm not enjoying this game. :(

We need to beef up our midfield. NRC or Stan should have come on rather than The Fonz. Hogg and Delph are suffering from the selection rather than their own deficiencies.

Put Reo-Coker on for Hogg and I think we've a chance in the second half.

I think we have been poor really. Eric done a good job on Monkey but its just not happening.   Hoggs done ok but can see him getting a red, I would get NRC on for a bit of energy in midfield..Gabby does his one on one miss again.  Albrighton, not really happening for the lad .  We are missing something , as we all know, about 5 players...    we just seem so bloody SOFT......

So far it's been a plain old outclassing, without Spurs actually having to shift out of 2nd gear, which is worrying.

The decision to put Hogg and Delph as a midfield 2 has out done anything O Neill ever dreamt up during his tenure! Fucking hell! Houllier is a bit of joke to be honest.
Lichaj has been a positive. I like the look of him and I think he's got the makings of an excellent fullback. With more experience he could be very good indeed for a few years.

Collins has been poor, and Warnock looks shaky.

If Delph was any rustier he'd need the fucking oil can treatment on his joints at half time, and then fuck off down the yellow brick road to find a heart when the final whistle blows! Crazy decision.

Ah but you see, Paulie, practicalities like that mean nothing in Sack-Him-Land. Sacking him means that we'll automatically start playing like Barcelona.

Not for me. We'd have the same problem with an outnumbered midfield possibly with a similarly limited player.

Hogg is one foul from a sending off- I'd swap reo -coker for hogg at half time , if we get a goal we could go on and win but we need to keep the ball better.

But he has still done what others in our team seem incapable of doing, and that's look for a pass through the centre to try and open them up. We need that kind of thinking.
