The last bit from Faulkner is interesting:

It sounds like a cliché, but January’s never been a great time to buy.

“You tend to be a bit more reactive than proactive, so you’re trying to fix problems rather than come up with real solutions.

“But if the right opportunity is there in January which makes us better then we’ll look to do things.”

I fully expect to see Robbie Keane through the door.

talksport talking about the Villa is a bit like your mates talking about your Wife,

yeah you know she's put on a bit of weight, and her arse is the size of a small ocean,
but you still dont want them saying it

Let's be honest, after 3 reasonable decent seasons of finishing 6th, we were due a duff one. It's the Villa way, especially after everything that happened pre season. Not just O'Neill going but Milner leaving has ripped the heart out of the playing 11.

It's funny but look back just two seasons and we'd just played out a fantastic 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal and were very much seen in the media as the team on the up especially as we were in the top 4 at that point.

Spurs meanwhile had just drawn 0-0 at home to Fulham, were in the bottom 6 after a couple of months in charge for Redknapp and had just sold their two best players in Keane and berbatov. Sound familar?

I think Spurs finished 8th or 9th that season after the infamous 2 points from 8 games start.

So I think that shows how quickly things can change in football, if you get a bit of momentum and actually make some good signings.

You have to say Redknapp has although ironically quite a few of them have been old players brought back.

I'd still give Houllier to this time next year and then have a proper assessment. We won't be relegated and let's see what he comes up with in the next two transfer windows.

Collymore is giving the Chelsea fans some stick, very funny, Clark has just been on and said dressing room a tad disappointed to not win.

I was listening to their commentary.

Stan's reaction to the equaliser was brilliant stuff.

I turned TalkSport on shortly after the match and Alan Brazil was talking, saying that a load of the Chelsea fans around them were having a go at Collymore for his celebrations, which they then played again.

He was as excited as any of us.

A pity he couldn't have been as animated when he was playing for us.

True, but he's still a Villa fan, and it's nice to hear someone in the media so clearly on our side.

The Chelsea fans complaining about Collymore's obvious bias must have not heard the other commentator reaching orgasm when Terry scored.

Stan is great and shares my view that Chelsea should never had had a penalty.

Wholly unprofessional, biased and unbecoming of a national broadcaster.

Fuckin great!

Sky had an ex Chelsea coach and the cousin of one of their star players. Fuck 'em.
