Who cares? If he's any good, he won't be going to SHA.

Great news indeed. United took his parents out to dinner in an attempt to court him, he's obviously very gifted.

Why would he want to play for Colchester?

His elder brother seems to be doing well for them lot.  He's the type of tenacious player we seem to missing at the moment.

Another player who was left in the cold by the previous regime, thought he did a decent job for us whenever he played.Hopefully by the end of the season his younger bro will start to come through.

And quite rightly too, he's doing well for that lot now but he was given enough chances with us and never looked like getting anywhere near being first choice.

C Gardner may be on a par with Hogg/ Herd/ Sidwell, but is not as good as Delph, Milner, Petrov, NRC so it was right to let him go imo.  I'd prefer Bannan and Clark to him as well to be honest.  Why did G Gardner get a longer contract than Barry Bannan who's already made an impression on the first team?  I hope it it highly incentivised on doing well, there is a fine line to be drawn between losing good young players and making them feel like they have hit the big time time already and and losing their focus and desire.

I always rated Gardner. He'd have done a good job for us during this last few weeks.

There was always a lot to admire with Craig. He never let anybody down apart from his ridiculous tales of he who he supported as a kid. Basically making him a laughing stock when he had no need to lie in the first place.
If a player support blose but give everything for us, no worries.
And he did, he's just not quite good enough to be a top midfielder. His brother certainly is.
That's not sour grapes because Craig is with Blues now but because Gary genuinely class. Whereas Craig gets everything out of his game through effort, it all sometimes looks a bit too easy for Gary. I think that's the mark of very special players. Especially if they show that at a very young age.

I remember speaking with a former youth player and coach (brothers) when Craig was breaking through from the academy and they said even back then (2004?) "wait until you see his little brother". Who must have been little more than a primary school kid then and was already earning rave reviews. Gary was actually with us first too. At age 8 or 9, I believe.

Can't wait to get him back fit and in this emerging young squad. There will be a bit of hype around him when he steps up but I think he'll take it in his stride.
He'll really compliment Delph and Bannan too. All three superb passers with a bit of steel about them. A very exciting prospective midfield in years to come.

For me, the last player that made it all look so easy was Sid.
So, if the kid matches up to anything near that, then I cant wait to see him.

Its more to do with (typically) being much better than others of his age group. When he makes his first team bow he will obviously find it harder but I think he'll rise to it.
