Don't know if something similar to this has already been posted...

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/violent-scenes-could-impact-on-world-cup-bid-2149137.html?

I'm sure that the decision on the WC2018 were actually made weeks ago. I mean the faves are Russia apparently. What a fan friendly Nation that is!

Apologies if these have been posted.

Look what some of our lot did.

St Andrews' ground improvements are coming on a bundle aren't they.

It's just sad isn't it?

No point in point scoring, there are idiots on both sides.

I just played back that section of the video a few times (around 3:13) and I'm almost certain that the flare originally came from the Blues end - at the far corner of the kop to the left of our fans as we look at it in the video. The fact that it initially landed among the noses on the pitch (before being lobbed into our end) suggests that the (presumably) nose who first threw it couldn't aim very well.

Anyhow, bringing a flare to throw at a football game is a totally demented, highly dangerous act, and not something I thought we'd see at a ground in this country.

And as for smashing up the bogs - how utterly juvenile and pointless. I can't fathom how that might constitute a "result" of any kind.

I still maintain whilst not condoning our behaviour, if they don't illegally enter the playing surface, this doesn't happen.  It's that simple.  They have forum for it.  And whilst we are talking about small time, how small time is it to go onto the pitch for winning a quarter final and anyone notice that despite the hype, they were still 2,000 short of a sell out.

Our fans aren't as innocent as some of you like to think. Our fans attacked and ran their fans at the Clements pub after the game, a fight broke out and our fans chased theirs while the rest of our fans smashed the pub up until the police arrived and moved our fans. Our fans ran them all over Digbeth all night.

I'm not condoning violence but it makes me laugh when some people slate their fans for being thugs and blame it all on them.

Some observations:

Can folks stop describing people as cretins.  Look it up in a dictionary.  My daughter was sadly born with cretinism, & is far, far more intelligent than the lowlife from both sides we witnessed last night.

The Guardian are reporting the flare was throwing into the Villa end.  A blues fan called WM just after 7 this morning saying they're normally searched before most home games, so can't understand why there was no searching going on last night.

I doubt we will ever play them at any other time than Sunday at noon ever again, which is very sad.

The flare definitely came from our end, i saw it light up and saw someone throw it.

We were searched last night, well at least my bag was searched.  I was asked if I had any bottles.  Nobody asked me if I had any flares.

Were you standing by the person who threw it?  Could you identify the person?

A couple of Noses got dragged through the door and battered when it was going off at half time under Railway Stand.

It was shocking really, every now and then there would be a surge when the wooden doors opened, but otherwise the metal roller door got kicked to pieces and was just about to come off when the riot police baton charged the Villa fans back.

Quite why about 300 or so people felt the need to walk together all the way from Aston I don't know

Safety in numbers, everyone will know someone with a mate who has a tale to tell about being battered when they are in a small group or on there own.

It also scared the shit of the Lulu youth. I was in front of the escort and about half a mile further up by Garrison Lane where there were about 80 young tits by the park when they received some moronic refenforcments from up the hill, out of the Beau Brummie. I told a few of them that Villa were coming down the hill and having a go with the police (which they were) and they all melted away once they clapped eyes on the escort and how big it was.

I thought the Police did alright last night, most of them were either shitting themselves or quoting Braveheart, but apart from half time when it was going off underneath the stand, they did a decent job.
