OK them numbnuts, care to decode it?

What is the hidden meaning contained within?

I need a good laugh after tonight.

If he said before the game you'd have something to shout about.

As he said it after what does it matter, he's got affection for Liverpool he probably would rather be beaten by Liverpool than anybody else .

as for the numbnuts  ....  jesus.

So its acceptable for him to prefer to lose to someone because he likes them. Thats like saying you wouldnt mind you wife cheating on you with a bloke with a bigger cock.

At a guess id say he'd prefer to lose to no one(maybe thats just me).  If the games lost what difference does a comment make about his former employers. who he probably had his most success under.

Where does that leave 'the bigger cock' analogy now?

You're trying desperately, and failing miserably, to defend the indefensible.

But he didn't say that, did he?

What he said was

"It's difficult to say but I prefer to lose 3-0 to Liverpool because I like Liverpool."

Maybe you'd like to go the route that he's foreign and didn't express himself well. Only problem with that is he trained (and I believe worked) as an English teacher in France and he's lived in this country previously.

Amongst all this sea of derision and contempt, I'll add another thing. I think Pelty's comments about Hogg in the match thread were a bit disgraceful for someone with obvious connections to the club. A lad making his third start for the club doesn't need to be criticised for being put in at the deep end and trying his hardest.

I completely agree for those reasons and also the fact there were far more deserving candidates.

Hogg is a victim of circumstance of our injuries and he is as somebody put it 'a baby'. Not much of a birthday for the lad.

Totally agree. The sort of comment I hear in the poub from people with no idea of what they are watching.

Ohy for fuck's sake both arguments are totally pathetic. The justifications are both awful.

In fairness, regardless of his connections I don't think pelty has ever suggested that he speaks for the club.

He's as entitled to his opinion as anyone, even if I think he got it wrong there.

If it was said before the game there would be no argument .

If id just lost a game to Villa, id've preferd to have lost to Villa aswell.

Yes, that's because you're a Villa supporter. Which is why people are so annoyed at GH saying that.

But would you say that to the press afterwards, with all the disrespect it shows to your current employers?
