I remember the last couple of seasons thinking how lucky we'd been with injuries.  MON was able to pick the same eleven week in, week out, as it seemed no-one ever got injured.

That luck has really evened itself out in the last couple of months.  If anything, we're probably in credit by now.

MON probably played certain players when they were injured such was his reliance on the same 11.

On Friday I saw James Collins Jr playing for Burton Albion on loan - might not be ready for the premier league just yet but he's match fit, puts himself about and he's scoring goals surely given the current casualty list its worth recalling him just in case the Fonz is struck down with in an ingrowing toe nail or pink boot syndrome before Blues away.

Definitely Gabby & Fonz for me too.

Ye really seeing Gabby and the Fonz against the scum. They know the score being local lads and would put everything into that game. Hope Cowans has a word in Houlliers ear ..............

Real shame this is but appendicitis is a real nasty thing to have, he must be in real pain but hopefully he make a quick recovery after his surgery.

I'm beginning to think that Legion is in charge of the Villa training and medical staff

I mentioned a few weeks ago about how our injury luck changed after he went to the open training session at Villa Park!

I honestly think we're going to have to fish round for another out of contract player, it's getting desperate now.

What sort of work do you do? Does it involve running 10k in 90 minutes, twisting, turning, lunging. It is also hardly minor surgery. I was was nil-by-mouth and then liquids only for the first week. Followed by another week on light foods. If Noble was back in 10 days he must get changed in a telephone box.

Puff. I had mine out in mid-air while completing a parachute rescue of a stranded polar bear and worked a 48 hour shift before stopping for a couple of Aspirin.

More seriously, I think we have to review our expectations.  Anything that the team can do over the next few weeks is a bonus and I hope that we're all sensible enough to see that.

I think we should special dispensation from the Premier League to get a 1-0 head start in every game.

That's how I'm trying to approach the period to the New Year Chris - difficult though in the heat of matches when you're desperate from them to win. Can't imagine there'll be much leeway given if we get turned over in the cup next week.

Most of us on here must fancy our chances of getting a game now.
