Mark Noble had an appendicitis op at the beginning of Nov and played against Liverpool last week - so 3 weeks will be about right.

I hope he doesn't leave Downing on the right - he's much less effective there though I guess he doesn't have many options.

I don't think we should train for the rest of the week give us a chance to out 11 out on Saturday.

Honestly, it's ridiculous. One step forward, two steps back.... we had Clark fit again for Blackburn, but then Albrighton and Collins drop out. Carew makes a return this week in the reserves, now Albrighton's ruled out for three weeks.....

There are injury problems and then there's our situation, which is verging on unbelievable.

Since making his debut he's missed a hell of a lot of games for Villa. I hope he's not gonna be another injury prone player akin to the likes of David Dunn, Kieran Dyer etc.

Mark Noble had an appendicitis op at the beginning of Nov and played against Liverpool last week - so 3 weeks will be about right.

It was 10 days between the op and the game according to the commentators. Whether he had pain killing injections or not I don't know but it shows that with a club's medical resources, the turnaround time would be much faster than if it were any of us.

No way, I'd play Delfouneso on the wing Instead of gabby, delboy is far more skillfull.

But I'd go 442 gabby and Carew against the arse. Clark in midfield for Hogg, if Collins is fit.

Once it's out, it's out. Makes no difference to the recovery time, all down to the healing process of that person. I was back at works in less than 3 weeks - mine was about to pop!

This is why I'm surprised people are getting frustrated with our inconsistant form.

Look at this injury, Marc was brilliant against Manure and would've taken a lot of confidence from consistantly beating a world class fan like Evra so a real chance to get some golden form going.

What happens, he's injured now so all the momentum has been lost. We won't get this season properly going until mid January imo.

Play Gabby and Delfouneso. Christ, the kid scored and is dropped, then he scores again in reserves.
Carew has not earned a start at all.

So, I'd play Gabby and Fonz up front with Downing and Young wide, Bannan and Clark in the middle maybe.
Not ideal but not too shabby either.

I remember the last couple of seasons thinking how lucky we'd been with injuries.  MON was able to pick the same eleven week in, week out, as it seemed no-one ever got injured.

That luck has really evened itself out in the last couple of months.  If anything, we're probably in credit by now.

On Friday I saw James Collins Jr playing for Burton Albion on loan - might not be ready for the premier league just yet but he's match fit, puts himself about and he's scoring goals surely given the current casualty list its worth recalling him just in case the Fonz is struck down with in an ingrowing toe nail or pink boot syndrome before Blues away.

What sort of work do you do? Does it involve running 10k in 90 minutes, twisting, turning, lunging. It is also hardly minor surgery. I was was nil-by-mouth and then liquids only for the first week. Followed by another week on light foods. If Noble was back in 10 days he must get changed in a telephone box.

Puff. I had mine out in mid-air while completing a parachute rescue of a stranded polar bear and worked a 48 hour shift before stopping for a couple of Aspirin.

More seriously, I think we have to review our expectations.  Anything that the team can do over the next few weeks is a bonus and I hope that we're all sensible enough to see that.

That's how I'm trying to approach the period to the New Year Chris - difficult though in the heat of matches when you're desperate from them to win. Can't imagine there'll be much leeway given if we get turned over in the cup next week.

Gives me an idea - anyone seen that film Invincible about the barman who attends an open trial with the Philadelphia Eagles and ends up with a 3 year contract?

Villa should do the same at the weekend - If I'm honest probably past my best now but there must be some lads on here that are a bit tasty in the power leagues, prize on offer a short term contract up till the January transfer window and a place on the bench for next Wednesday.

With all this advancement in medical secience why are we still so barbaric as to having to cut parts of the human body out of open cuts we make? When are we going to get Star Trek like technology that we can just scan something over the affected area two or three times and the problems solved? just plain daft.
