When he targeted Maloney that time he could have had the pick of Bouma, Harewood or JC.

I thought that when I first saw it, but when you watch it back, his body actually shudders from the force of the punch.

Yes, that was a street fighting move based on karate to disable your opponent. Pedersen was genuinely shocked.
