Happy Jack goes at Huntingdon today at 1.15. Second time over hurdles. He will run a lot better than he did at Uttoxeter being half a mile less and much more suitable ground. He will win soon. He is an improving horse but whether or not he has come on enough we shall find out today.

Anyone else having a go at the King George VI chase? I know fuck all about racing and have had a whole £5 each on two horses:

Don Cossack @ 4/1 - won money on this horse back in the summer so he gets the nod again

Annacotty @ 50/1 - was at 100/1 before winning at Cheltenham yesterday

You can still get 100/1 on Annacotty at Bet365.
I'll probably go for Siliviniaco Conti doing it again at 6/1 and Menorah at 25/1 each way. But its a bit early for me to be putting any money on.

Villa, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal to win. £10 at 60/1.

You will see by 16:45 why I don't bet a lot.

I saw that but couldn't add funds to my Bet365 account for some reason. Had a fiver on my skybet account and used that.

Is there any tactical reason why it's too early for you yet?

No. Just don't like giving my money to the bookies until the last minute!

If youre looking for future value the 8/1 for Don Poli, (Last years RSA chase winner) to win the Gold Cup is decent.

That's usually a fair form line.

Although Coneygree will take some beating you'd have thought.

Good job too, I've gone off Siliviniaco Conti after the weekend.

Traditional Christmas accumulator is on. £5 on Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Walsall, Peterborough and Grimsby all to win. Hopefully it will exorcise the demons of the £30 ninefold from last year for around £9000 which had 8 wins and bastard Luton Town drawing.

Happy Jack runs at 8.10 Chelmsford this Thursday. 4th last time but only beaten a length. Will go close but he is a poor quality horse so is hard to win with. I shall have a few quid on him.

As I expected Happy Jack managed to find one too good for him. The trainer and other observers commented that he had no luck in running but I made my view clear that the jockey left the horse far too much to do.  You try to get through a wall of horses in the last half furlong and you are asking for trouble.

Bet 365 are doing their risk free in play bet tonight on PSG v Chelsea. I've got a few quid from these but am just wondering the best deal with this fixture.

I think £50 on PSG draw no bet @ 2/9 and then inplay Chelsea draw no bet @3/1 would give profit of £11 if PSG win, £100 if Chelsea win and money back on draw.

Alternatively PSG win @ 13/8 and then inplay Chelsea or draw @ 13/10 would profit £39 for PSG or £15 any other result.

Obviously there is the third option of bringing in another bookie to lay off bets but I can't think of that yet. Just got to get the calculator out again to go through these as my brain is getting befuddled with all the permutations.

Bet 365 with their risk free in play bets for Arsenal v Barcelona tomorrow. Place a bet pre match then place another in play.

If you bet Under 3.5 goals £50 pre match, then over 3.5 goals after kick off you are guaranteed a £25 win.

U3.5 £50 @ 1/2 pays £75 plus your £50 inplay bet returned.

O3.5 £50 @ 6/4 pays £125.

Both give a profit of £25. I think this is the best way to get the most out of this offer.
