That's Entertainment by the Jam after the 4-0 Boxing Day win over Everton in 2005. The Life of Riley by the Lightning Seeds during 1992-95 ish, an endless supply of quality Villa goals featuring in Match of the Day's Goal of the Month. Also, a 1995 track which i think was called "Pigbag?" and always seemed to be played when the teams came out during Brian Little's first full season. Its played at Boro quite a lot too even now.

Also, Ghost Town after we relegated Coventry in 2001!

Theme from an unmade silent movie by Hurricane Smith transports me back to when we were the best team in England, and then the best team in Europe. The club should re-instate it, play it before every game

I totally agree

Here Here, it always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Halcyon Days, I remember being at a game a few years ago when they played it again!

Same for me.

Elton John....Crodile Rock, 1972, I was on the Holte End, wearing my 8 button waist band baggies, 3 star jumper and me Doc Martins.... We played Leeds united and lost 1-0, I have no idea why this so memorable.

Several Queen songs. We Will Rock You at nearly every home match in the BFR era but particularly as the players got ready to take their penalties vs Inter in 1994. Also hearing We Are The Champions before kick off at Wembley in 1994.

We Are The Champions by Queen, May 1981 civic reception. That song takes me back 30-odd years to Victoria Square, Birmingham.

Come On Eilenn by Dexys takes me back to the 1st game of the 82/83 season when we lost to Sunderland and hearing their fans singing the chorus.

The only other song that seems to have this affect on me is The Fratellis 'Chelsea Daggers' which instantly takes me singing and dancing to the derbyshire tannoy with my lad down the rear steps of the away end at Pride Park following our five goal rout there a couple of seasons ago.

It was six goals, not 5. Sorry, OCD and all that ;D

For all the great music that was around in 1982, the band I associate most with winning the European Cup is Haircut 100. Please don't ask me why.

Why's that, Dave?

Being completely morbid, but 'If you let me stay' by Terence Trent D'arby reminds me of standing on the Holte the day we were relegated against Sheffield Wednesday in 1987; not sure why other than it must have been in the charts and played on the radio a lot around that tijme

When I hear "Can you feel it" by the Jacksons/Michael Jackson I think to the game at Highbury in 81 for the same reasons.

These are just 2 songs, I can think of loads of music over time that remind me of Villa moments.

How strange that I came to this thread to post exactly the same song and there it is in the very last post I read. For me it reminds me of the game before that, against Middlesborough at Villa Park. The whole sense of excitement about what was about to happen is there in the lyric "Can you feel it?". However, bizarrely,  it's the line "It's in the air - the wind is taking it everywhere" that plants a crystal clear image in my mind of a stream of bog roll rising from the right side of The Holte and floating over our heads and tangling itself around the left floodlight!

Dave was at a Haircut 100 gig at The Odeon the day something else was happening at Highbury - but he doesn't care to mention it ;-)
