« on: October 28, 2010, 06:17:43 PM »
Just been confirmed by Northern Irish news that O'Neill is off to manage in Saudi Arabia, he has agreed a 2 year contract worth £4-£5m, but has to speak to Villa to sort out contract issues.

I wonder will he be able to find premier league / scottish premier league players move to Saudi Arabia as he doesn't look outside those two league.

Let hope he will buy John Carew and Steve Sidwell and Salifou for big money.

I think he'll definitely go for Carew. We all know MON likes to spend big wages, and those rich men over there will give me £70-80k a week I'd imagine.

I bet as much as the £4m, he'll like the role of King Over the Water just as much.  Every time a Premier League club are in the market for a new manager his name'll be in the frame.

Huh, is this serious? Can't see 'owt about it elsewhere. He must look up to Dolly O'Dreary, following him in his past two jobs now (or near enough, Saudi, Dubai, oil is oil etc.)...

Not a great source but;

Al Hilal representatives have revealed that, ‘a contract is almost signed and a announcement will be imminent’. The appointment of O’Neill would be another step in the right direction as, ‘the club are committed to being the biggest in the region’. O’Neill has been told that he can bring his own staff across to help him work with the likes of Lee Young-Pyo, who previously played in the Premier League for Tottenham, and Brazilian international Thiago Neves.

This is strange. All our ex managers seem to be getting strange jobs in far off lands.

It's Martin O'Noil now then. I just hope they are not expectin a slick passing game. Maybe they will be happy with the defenders just Camel Humping it up the pitch. Be interesting to see how the fans respond to his somewhat crude attitude towards them.

Strange career decision.

A Premier League job wouldn't be beyond him.

Maybe that's the problem....nobody came looking for his services.
