Listening to R5, Alan Green was talking/moaning about the Carling Cup and mentioned the low attendances, lots of teams were mentioned, but not Villa.

BBC is a broad family! Just BBC1 then.

Decent draw for the next round. But always have to be wary in cup competitions.

Thanks BBC. Just showed the highlights of this weeks cup games, and the only team mentioned at having a low attendance?

I noticed that. Of course the wonderful Koppites managed 22,000 - including 4,500 Northampton. We managed nearly 19,000 with about 500 Blackburn - so virtually the same.

As for the draw. That'll do nicely. If we go out, we have only ourselves to blame. Blose are having some fucking jam this year...

full draw:-

Newcastle United v Arsenal
Birmingham City v Brentford
Wigan Athletic v Swansea City
Aston Villa v Burnley
Leicester City v West Bromwich Albion
Manchester United v Wolverhampton Wanderers
West Ham United v Stoke City
Ipswich Town v Northampton Town

All ties will take place during the week commencing October 25th.

Doh! I'm on holiday. Even though I have a season ticket, I'll still buy a ticket for this though just in case we make the final...you never know!

Great draw. Can not whinge at a home draw against lower league opposition. Some good all premiership ties as well. It looked good before the draw, more positive now, we really should be making the very late stages of this trophy.

God, strange to see so few teams left already. This year looks very winnable indeed. If we have to face Utd, I'd rather do it early, when the kids will get played, so maybe next round would be nice.

We've a very good chance of winning it. Houllier's done well with this competition too.

I think they were referring to the fact that it was GH's first match and trying to make something of it. If it had been a league game, it would have been 35,000+.

Dull draw but should be a victory. We can save the excitement until later in the competition

Excellent draw. We'll be easily through.
Shame Manure are at home, could do with them being knocked out.
I've a sneaky feeling that the Bees could turn the Blues over.

What a fantastic draw.

Good to see a few all PL ties as well.

I honestly think we're on our way to Wembley again. Certainly the draw has conspired to make it as easy as possible for us.
