How is it ridiculous? Care to be any more constructive? Just an opinion that he is the type of player GH will target, and know it will go down well with the fans. Maybe on loan at first, but I can certainly see him being a target.

Fuck Milner. He left us and people still salivate over him.

With Makoun, Delph and Bradley gradually displacing NRC and Petrov in the next few months and Bannan and Gardner not far behind, the centre of midfield is not a position we need to worry about.

I dont disagree entirely. But if, and its a big if, City come calling for Young, we have to consider what deals best suit us.
I agree that we'll have plenty of strength in midfield but there's always room for Milner, I reckon. We at least know his value and his strengths.

I know he left us and whilst disappointing, I understand why he did and if circumstances dictate that he could come back, I at least would welcome him.
But I wont criticise anybody that wouldn't. I think it's fair enough.

Has anyone apart from Sid ever had three seperate playing spells for us (not including players we sent out on loan that came back and then got loaned to somebody else)?

I wouldn't be amazed to see Milner back. Man U are after that Chile winger, they are the only team apart from Man City I remember being particularly linked with him previously. Of course, it might depend who Man City's manager is.

While it would be great to have Milner back, I think a lot will depend on what kind of money he'll expect to be on, and whether GH tactics would accomodate him, let alone whether he'd even want to return and the fee to get him. I actually think Michael Bradley will fill the Milner role very well once he gets going, and instead of spending 10-15m, we'll spend 5 or 6 to sign Bradley permanently.

I'd have Milner back in a heartbeat.

If Milner does want to leave Man City then I can see most top ambitious clubs going in for him. Maybe even Manchester United. He might not want to come back here. I'm certain 'Arry would be interested.

I don't know if I'd ever accept Milner back. He burnt his bridges for me

Milner won't be going anywhere, he is involved in nearly every game even if that is as a sub.

He is on too much money for us now.

And I have great respect for Milner, hr never disrespected us at all and was brilliant against West Ham before he went. He conducted himself in the proper way in my opinion.

I would like Milner in our midfield, but there's a decent chance Makoun, Delph and Bradley will be good enough.

There's a lot of assumptions going on... Bradley being any good, Delph being good enough, Houllier being interested in Milner, Milner wanting to come back.

If Man City qualify for the Champions League he won't be going ganywhere I don't think.

I think if Milner became 'available' there would be plenty of clubs linked to him. Even 'Appy 'Arry with his cluelessness about defending would admit he needs a player with more steel in his midfield.

I'd have Milner back in a flash.  But then don't listen to me as I'd still have Barry back.

I very much doubt 'Appy 'Arry will be playing Chumps League next season. He'll be practically in the same boat as us

It'd be great to have Milner back but it won't happen, so we should move on.

I'd definitely have Milner back, not Barry right now but I wouldn't rule it out in the future when circumstances may change.

Milner won't leave in the Summer. Mancini loves him and if they're in the Champions League next year they'll be more bigger games and he won't want to give that up when that's why he moved there.

Maybe the season after if he still isn't playing but he's perfect for European football.
