Bigger clubs than Liverpool will be after ash in the summer, what we need to do is finish the season in style and hopefully he will agree a new contract, I agree Liverpool may want him but why would he choose them .

He's not stupid, he knows that in the summer he'll have plenty of offers if he decides to go. There's nothing in it for him to jum ship to a side who will not be able to offer him CL football next season.

Its been a great transfer window for Villa, timed with an up-turn in form and a useful looking fixture list for Feb-March. Bent, Makoun, Walker, probably Bradley in, absolute dross out. And we're playing better football, and youngsters like Bannan, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Hogg, Clark, Baker etc (with Delph and Gardner to come) are getting more time on the pitch.

I'm feeling really positive about all this at the moment.

Indeed it would but I do still think theres a strong chance we can keep him and extend his contract. (really hope I'm not left eating my words in the next 7 hours!!)

Paulie , let me be quite clear , I do not believe ash is going anywhere - he is not for sale!
I do believe however Liverpool are trying to get him , but it won't happen.

Out of interest what bid would you accept? £20m plus?
