I can probably find you quotes from Houllier saying how we're not going to sign a striker from four days before we smashed our transfer record to sign one.

It means bugger all. I still think Ireland will continue to be a waster and probably leave on loan in the next five days. But a couple of non-committal quotes from Houllier mean very little.

I think you are probably right. We were looking for evidence of a shit attitude in this instance though, and some of those quotes would suggest as much. Personally, i didn't need to see any quotes, just watching him play for us was enough to convince me.
