Last week all I knew was a big name bid was in the offing. Today I found out the Bent thing. They're probably the same, but I don't know for sure.

We still haven't reinvested the Milner wages but I take the point.  Unless randy has decided to give Houllier until the end of the summer to shift some deadweights.  I've never doubted Randy had money to spend and significant sums i.e £15m+ if required it was just the board and manager taking responsibility for keeping the wages under control.  (And that isn't a dig at O'Neill before anyone accuses).

Chelsea look set to join Liverpool and Tottenham in the race to sign Aston Villa’s Ashley Young.
The 25-year-old has been the subject of interest from several Premier League clubs after he called off talks over a new contract at Villa Park in the autumn.
