Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has repeated his verbal attack on Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier over making public his interest in signing midfielder Charlie Adam.

The Tangerines have already rejected bids for £2.5 and £3.5 million from Villa for Adam.

West Brom 3-2 Blackpool: Odemwingie braces sees off brave Seasiders

But Holloway has the "raving hump" that Houllier has spoken about Adam, who has 18 months remaining of his current deal.

And he insisted Adam will not be sold to Villa.

Holloway was speaking after his side were beaten 3-2 at West Brom via a last-gasp goal from Peter Odemwingie - his second of the game.

He said: "You've got every right to ask me the question, but Mr Houllier should not talk about someone else's player when he hasn't put up enough money to buy him.

"Will I honestly sell him (Adam) to Aston Villa? The answer is no because I am managing his career.

"I've told him where I think he's good enough to go and again today I think he's hit the best pass I've ever seen in my life.

"If there's anybody in the Premier League who can hit a pass like that, how much are they worth?

"So don't insult me by talking about my players.

"Don't talk about my player and I got the raving hump about it because it's not etiquette and it's wrong."

Herp Derp

Owen Coyle left Burnley for Bolton (who were below Burnley in the table). Why? Because Coyle knew his long-term prospects would be better being manager of Bolton rather than manager of Burnley. Same scenario here, Adam knows we're a big club and that although we're struggling at the moment, our long-term outlook will look a lot brighter than Blackpool's who will probably get relegated next season.

If it is a solid player in a position of need and I could choose one that would have the biggest impact I would go for Bent. Guarantee of premier league goals, which we need more than anything.

Law of diminishing returns continues to apply to holloway's press guff. Thinks he's an urbane wit and breath of fresh air, when in fact he's just a bit of a thick ****** who likes the sound of his own voice. File alongside savage, R and ignore.

Adam would be a decent signing but I'd love to know this player who has got pelty so excited.
Me too. Just wondering who it is and when we might sign that player Pelty speaks of...

Do not allow my statements to overhype this. We are not talking Benzema, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, etc. We are, though, talking about a very good player who will really help us in a position of need. Again, I was stupid and allowed my excitement over the possible signing to outweigh good sense and I apologize to all of your for my rashness. Now, the possibility is that no one will be good enough in your eyes outside of players of the caliber described above. Please do not let it be that way and, should this player sign, my hope is that most of you will agree that it is a really solid signing.
You didn't mention Klose and he's up there with those calibre of players ;)

I hope it's not Michael Owen otherwise no-one's going to be happy and it's just going to make things worse. Cand you confirm it's not Michael Owen? If it isn't Michael Owen you might as well say it's not him...

Lets give him a break guys, and appreciate that he is trying to let fellow fans know that things are happening.

No you won't sell him Ian, but your club will. That's when you'll stamp your feet, your bottom lip will curl down, and you'll threaten to quit.

What happened with all the edited posts on the last page?

I know it's good coming on here letting us know what's going on, what I don't understand is why he can't confirm it's not Owen if we won't be signing Owen. If he can't confirm we're not signing Owen it looks like we're signing Owen :(

I still can't believe that the Premier League / FA haven't called his bluff over the weakened squad he played against us, especially after fining Wolves last season for the same thing.

We could be here a while if he has to deny interest in every player that could possibly be mentioned.

I wouldn't be that upset if it was owen- the key with owen is keeping him fit, he will score goals , I doubt it will be him though.

I now feel we should play "Guess the player who Pelty's keeping under wraps". Winner gets free copies of Heroes and Villains until the end of the season.

A fit Michael Owen is miles better than anything we've got up front, but thats the problem, he's always injured.

Why not just type this in big bold letters and in Red for everyone to see? Discretion indeed

Why not quote it again to make sure everyone has read it!

see, just like that. Puff of smoke. Vanished.

What?

Did someone say something?

What? That we shouldn't guess or that the winner will get free H&V copies?
