Re Charlie Adam....

Few stories (rumours - no links) circulating that fee has been agreed at 5 million.

Seen him play a few times now, there's definately something of the 'Gareth Barrys' about him.

By which I mean, slow and stodgy with good touch and decent vision. Better shot on him than Petrov or Reo-Coker, no question. But he isn't gonna be a workhorse - maybe that'll be Makouns job.

If it helps push it through, why not send Bannan there on loan as part of the deal?

Definitely dodged a bullet with Bridge, what a shadow of a player he has become.

Because Bannan should be playing for us. Probably our most technically gifted player without exaggeration. Give him a more advanced role and let him play some of the passes no-one else in the ground can see.

Better shot on him than NRC or Petrov ? I should fcukin hope so. I'd fancy Stevie Wonder to have a better shot on him than those two.

Imperial Stormtroopers are better shots.

How about these apples for a midfield:

---------------------------Makoun-----------------------------Adam--------------------------

Albrighton-------------------------------Bannan-------------------------------------AYoung

Bit of everything there. Harsh on Downing mind.

Wee Barry has his merits no question, but with Makoun, Petrov, Reo-coker, Delph and theoretically Adam, he won't get a look-in.

Anyone else seen this from NOTW? Makes tomorrows game even more significant....

The Montpellier centre-half’s agent, Bekim Dino Pasalic, said: “Houllier wants Spahic at Villa. But after he lost against Sunderland, his job is not secure any more.

“If his team wins the derby, he will stay as Villa manager and be given a free hand to buy anyone he wants. If he loses, he will be sacked and the Spahic transfer will be off.

“I know the Montpellier president said Spahic can’t leave. But I spoke to him and he was realistic.

“If Villa’s offer is good enough, he will let Spahic go to England. Now we are waiting for the Birmingham result to see what to do next.”

On current form I'd play Downing over Young in a heartbeat. No question about it.

Chinny reckon. Like an agent is going to be so clued up on behind the scenes goings on at Villa.

Reading that again........ With respect, he isn't.  He's promising but some way off the real deal yet.

All of them have some odd signings, but Bridge at his best is a decent player, and streets better than Warnock
I'd take Warnock's early form for us over anything Bridge has come up with in his career.

But I'd take Ciaran Clark, Luke Young or probably even Emile Heskey at left-back over anything that Warnock or Bridge have served up in the last couple of dozen games.

No.

Fuck him, the gobby yokel with his "used to be famous" bullshit.

Wave the money, unsettle the player, and fuck them.

Having just seen the highlights of the West Hammered game Bridge made 4 fcuk ups for the 3 Arsenal goals. Thats £90,000 well saved.

He was Houlliers choice though, he thought he was better then anything we had.
For me it's more worrying our manager wanted him never mind missing out on him.

Awesome.

We're now crucifying the manager for shit players he didn't sign.
