If they have paid 6 million for Keane it would be hilarious. 31 years old and been off the pace for two years. It does show i suppose how nervous some clubs are about relegation.

You are, just trying to disguise it in banter or whatever it is called. Your posts are increasingly mocking or tweaked to have digs to wind people up. Do you not have a knuckle draggers forum to brighten the day of?

Information I have received would suggest that Andy Carroll (my new mate) could leave Newcastle in this transfer window

Ireland, beye and 7 million should do it.(if true).

Problem with MON was not just the silence or the wait , but the sheer predictability of who would arrive. If he was still here, you're right they'd be no indications but we'd all know he'd be camped outside Robbie Keane's house

I never thought he was as predictable as some did.  I once asked someone if it was so obvious then tell us our next signing, to which I got some vague collection of clubs we'd be shopping from.  For instance, I didn't see anyone predicting Keane until the papers first broke the story.  Warnock and Cuellar were pretty much out of the blue, for example.  His pattern of signings from Britain, and preferably the PL, was predictable, but exactly who he had his eye on was less so given his and the clubs refusal to comment and play the media game.

As it goes, I prefer Gezza's way of admitting interest without trying to do deals in the press.  Maybe that's just as it's a refreshing chage from the last 4 years, but I feel less frustration waiting for the signings.

I thought he was staggeringly predictable towards the end mainly because he dealt in such a self-imposed restricted market. you could always get it down to 2 or 3 possible players in any position because there was only that many he'd consider that were available. It was rather like a simplistic version of that kids game from the 70's where you had to knock down 50 odd cartoon faces by asking your opponent questions about them. you can still play the MON version now in fact.....

"Is he a striker?" Yes

*knocks down 40 foreign based players*

"Does he play in scotland?" No

*knocks down another 4*

*is he getting on a bit?" yes

*knocks down another 4*

"hmmm......has he ever played in scotland?" yes

*knocks down michael owen*

"is it robbie keane?"

Simples.

Just seen houllier on SSN. "Barry fry or fly?"

His response to barry fry's comments the other day. And mentioning Ian holloway after villa themselves did things the right way by approaching Blackpool. He his still waiting for an official response from blackpool. A couple of digs there I see.

That's the best press conference I've seen from houllier since he's joined.

More delights from the manager of Blackpool on our bid for Charlie Adam:

‘I want him to go to a strong club with a strong manager who loves him and where he will be able to win things, not some half-arsed place that used to be famous and the manager is on a dodgy wicket. I’m going to work him into one of the top six clubs. What if Liverpool came in for him? They wouldn’t have enough money to buy him.'

What a cheeky twat, he has gone right down in my estimations with that comment on Houllier.

Sounds abit bitter to me, like the board are preparing too sell Adam and Holloway is trying to persuade the player not to come to us.

i'm sure he's a very self-confident chap but i doubt whether he expects to be playing for a CL club anytime soon. Probably hoping Holloway shuts his big gob, like the rest of us.

Simples.

So once you know his position, where he plays, his age and where he used to play, you can predict it?  And here was me thinking the deductive reasoning of detectives such as Sherlock Holmes was a thing of fiction!

And for all this we still never actually signed Robbie Keane, as far as I recall.
