Good news. I knew whoever posted that dodgy link trying to troll saying Makoun was staying with Lyon wasn't really true... still thought we'd sign him.

Hopefully we can wrap it up pretty soon and sign Makoun. He'll certainly strengthen our midfield.

Striker and defender next please!

I'd wait until the deal was done rather than making accusations of trolling, if I was you.

I don't know how reliable L'equipe are for news but they've been around a lot longer than the likes of Caught Offside, who BBC keep using as a news source.

Houllier said: "We have had some very positive talks with the club (Lyon), with the player and his representative.

"I hope to be able to say more soon but for the moment nothing is signed.

"But it is going on positively and he (Makoun) should have a medical in the next day or so. "

Maybe so, DrGonzo. My point was about unnecessary accusations of trolling.

Someone asked about the link, I translated a brief summary of the content. I can't help if the website's info was wrong, neither can the guy who posted the link in the first place.
