Good news. I knew whoever posted that dodgy link trying to troll saying Makoun was staying with Lyon wasn't really true... still thought we'd sign him.

I'd wait until the deal was done rather than making accusations of trolling, if I was you.

I don't know how reliable L'equipe are for news but they've been around a lot longer than the likes of Caught Offside, who BBC keep using as a news source.

Seems a bit strange of how they write something saying Makoun is staying at Lyon then less than 24 hours later it's confirmed we've had our bid accepted with the medical being done soon.

The article said Villa and Makoun were a long way apart. Not on the transfer fee, not on medical concerns. But on the salary (or if you want to use the anglicisation of it, personal terms) - the one bit you've not mentioned.

Yeah, that was before the fee had been agreed though, I doubt Lyon would agree a fee with a club Makoun has already made up his mind about i.e. his salary. Normally negotiations break down with salaries after the fee has been agreed, we wouldn't put in a bid for Makoun in the first place if we think we couldn't match his requirements with his salary.

Hopefully this goes through.

The article didn't say anything about him having already made up his mind. It said Villa and Makoun disagreed (or were along way apart) on the player's wages.
