I don't buy the speaks his mind defence, Jeremy Clarkson speaks his mind but it doesn't stop him being an obnoxious areshole.

Holloway isn't in that league but his remarks after Southampton fans took the piss were churlish as were his threats to throw the dummy after playing a weakened team against us. Like the others you mention he's always looking to play the victim.

It isn't a 'defence'. I said I like him and the others because they speak their mind.

He is quickly turning from entertaining manager from little club giving the big league what for

into a mouthy, rentaquote, love myself gobshite

And it's started, remember when Blackpool got promoted and everybody was on here saying what a breath of fresh air Holloway would be and Dave W (I think)said that as soon as he said anything that might be deemed a dig at Villa people would soon change their minds.

Not me, I bloody love him, wish there were more managers like him and Phil Brown (yep, still like him), Mccarthy and Warnock who actually spoke their mind and didn't care who they pissed off. Imagine a Premiership full of the tedious, monotone cliched shite from the likes of Dalglish, Houllier etc.

Have to agree I do like him, He did seem a bit sour after the defeat by the Saints though

He's a good player is Hamill, supposedly Everton are after him as well but as he is a Liverpool fan he might not be too een on pulling on the blue shirt.

Holloway is only doing his best to get the biggest possible fee. I cant say I'm bothered by his disrespect. He is nobody.

Back to the subject of transfer speculation etc. I see Curtis is after a move to Stoke according to SSN when they are not drooling over Becks training.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Arsenal bid for Davies. They desperately need centre-back cover and Wenger loved Davies when he was at West Brom.

Not a massive risk at £2m.

Except to Arsenal the price should be £5m

Clarkson's a difficult one and I also think he's a c***, but like him anyway.

As I said there are a lot of peoiple who are said to "speak their mind" - Clarkson, Tebbit, Palin - that's not a reason in itself to like someone.

I don't particulary dislike him but to me he's just another self publicist like Allardyce. The story with the managers you mention is always about them, what a great job they're doing never about the players. If they win it's their genius, if they lose it's because the players didn't do as they were told. Just look at his words about Adam, how he wants to get him into one of the top sides not that the player could achieve it by himself bit needs him to sort it for him.

His dress sense is of no interest to me. I do find him entertaining. Top Gear is a guilty pleasure.
In fact, I dont feel guilty, I just like it.
