I think his absence made NRC a better player in the mind than on the pitch. I am guilty of this with him. He is in no way good enough, and a midfield pair of Adam and Makoun is much more enticing than Reo Coker and Petrov.

Still need a forward though.

There's nothing wrong with NRC if you allow him to play to his strengths and not expect anything else of him. Good defensive midfielder who then needs to play a simple pass to someone better than he is. We need to upgrade him to someone better on the ball, but to do that and still give what he can defensively is a top notch player.

He'll be vital in this battle we're facing between now and May and after that I'd like him to stay around as a squad player.

If we were not in the bottom three I'd have concerns about the signing of Adam limiting the development of Bannan, stunting his metaphorical growth if you will. Needs must.

Will be pleased if Larsson goes from the Blues to Newcastle ahead of Sunday as he strikes me as always being up for it against us - he has been given permission to talk to them

However, that does then worry me about who might be leaving Newcassle to come to us in light of the JB rumours!

Me too. I think Larsson's a good player too.

As for Adam, I've read his contract is up at the end of the season and Blackpool have indicated they will sell, given the right price. If they've turned down £2.5m... can't see them wanting much more than £3m. I think he'll go.

Sounds too short, doesn't it? But then again, August 2009 was a different time altogether for Blackpool... who'd have thought a year later they'd have been in the PL? Maybe a two year deal to sign a player from Glasgow Rangers was all they could afford, or were prepared, to offer?
