RL is steering our club like a rudderless ship. He will not invest any more money into the club. It's about time he stated his intentions and made a statement to the fans instead of this stupid silence. The club is is a worse position than when Doug was here. SHOW SOME LEADERSHIP AND RESPECT FOR THE FANS FOR ONCE LERNER!

That is, with all due respect, a complete load of Bollocks.

I think the club will spend again but GH will be a bit different in his approach to bringing players in. Using the loan system this month makes a lot of sense, with full backs needed if we are honest, while there is little risk as if they are good we can sign them, and if not the liability of a 4 year deal is not on the club while the wage bill can't contain it. Also, we need to remember that the new rules with wages and turnover and spend will come in very soon and Villa needed to reduce the wage bill considerably.

If there is money to spend it doesn't mean we have to be stupid. Even Man City haggle a bit... they didn't just come in and offer us £30 million for Milner did they? £7 million is a lot for a player who is due to be out of contract and if the board think they can persuade Lyon to drop their price by playing a waiting game then fair enough.

Exactly. There is money to spend but we dont have to have the piss taken out of us. £7m for a player in his last year is a lot for any player.
We'll come to an understanding but there has to be some haggling I suppose.

Lyon are after the best deal for Lyon. They are playing hard to get hoping to flush out interest and start an auction. Makoun supposedly wants to come and play in England, I reckon it will happen fairly quickly once the match is out of the way.

I wouldn't wasre your time getting excited about Makoun joining us. The club won't spend any more money - that stopped on 1st September, 2009! Lerner will eventually sell what assets we have a take the money and run! Why do you think MON left??

Because he's a bell end.

We may need a left back..........but we have Luke Young, Cuellar, Lichaj and Beye who can all play at right back

Yes, and it's a complete load of bollocks to be in the bottom 3! Have you studied the PL table recently? Not to worry, ''bright future''

I can understand the stick for the manager, but anyone with half a brain can see Lerner has been brilliant for Villa since he came in. They have had to cut their cloth a bit following the mistake of letting the wages get a bit out of control, and are now going down a different long term project to try and change the method but get back to the same, if not better position. It will take time, and faith.

I agree that he won't be signing for us but not for the same reasons as you. Although i think money is tight, i don't think £7m transfers are an impossibility. I just think that the player will not see us as an attractive proposition, considering he has played at Champions League level. The only reason he may come, a frenchman being in charge, is a little uncertain at present also.

mmmmmmm did u see Wednesdays game ?? when the manager Randy appointed made no sustitutions for over 87 minutes even though we had played with 10 men for over 30 mins, his tactical masterplan is to play our left winger on the right hand side and one of our centre forwards as a left winger
