I think the club will spend again but GH will be a bit different in his approach to bringing players in. Using the loan system this month makes a lot of sense, with full backs needed if we are honest, while there is little risk as if they are good we can sign them, and if not the liability of a 4 year deal is not on the club while the wage bill can't contain it. Also, we need to remember that the new rules with wages and turnover and spend will come in very soon and Villa needed to reduce the wage bill considerably.

I can understand the stick for the manager, but anyone with half a brain can see Lerner has been brilliant for Villa since he came in. They have had to cut their cloth a bit following the mistake of letting the wages get a bit out of control, and are now going down a different long term project to try and change the method but get back to the same, if not better position. It will take time, and faith.

I agree that he won't be signing for us but not for the same reasons as you. Although i think money is tight, i don't think £7m transfers are an impossibility. I just think that the player will not see us as an attractive proposition, considering he has played at Champions League level. The only reason he may come, a frenchman being in charge, is a little uncertain at present also.
