Sidwell has joined Wolves on loan say Daily Mail

Why are we loaning players to our relegation rivals?

I know its a fukin shambles. Spurs are even letting us have their players on loan as well. Wait till we give Albion Carew to fire them to safety.

Walker looks done by all accounts. Pleased to have an attacking right back in to be honest, as it will give us a better attacking dimension at home.

The thing is it is clear Houllier wants central midfield men, Forfana, Romeu and Makoun all targeted but the 2 former now both have injury issues. Makoun would be most useful though now, knows Houllier, knows the way he likes to play and would give us steel in the middle.

I am going to say something a bit mad now though. I would get Bentley in to play centre midfield at home alongside him. He is creative, hard working and can get goals from the centre of the park, or at least he did at Blackburn. We need spark in there.

Then finally a striker. We have been linked with Bothroyd, and I can see why as he might do the job Emile is doing for a very small fee. If there is better out there get it, but we need a few in reality to bump up the numbers.

Ye agree with you. Makoun straight in with Bentley (who will be fresh and hungry) Along with Horauo (Lyon) and sure that would keep us up ......

We need a player or two that will spark some interest, not only in the fans but also in team. We need a leader out there who's going to tear into this lot and wake them from this slumber. Once again Villa being too nice.

I've never seen the reasons for this link.

Houllier left Lyon the season before Makoun was signed and as far as I know has never managed him.

Along with Horauo (Lyon) and sure that would keep us up ......
Plays for Paris St Germain. I think he'd do well for us, but if we don't see our long-term future with Houllier, do we really want to be spending £15m on his choice of striker? I'm not so sure.

Ye Paris St Germain. Thank you.  But if he is going to back him this is what he has to do .........

Hoarau?  If you insist.

But if you thought Carew was lazy............

And as an addendum, I would have thought that the more obvious link to make would be Kim Kallstrom.

Signed under Houllier's tenure at Lyon, out of contract in the summer. Decent player, only 28 years old. Surely he should be a shoe-in?

Was not aware Dave apologies for the ignorance, but the link appears quite strong and he is a good player from what I have seen in the Champions league. The centre of midfield and lack of forward options is what will get us relegated if it is not sorted.

Oh, I agree completely that he'd be a good signing. Just not sure why he's always been one of the first names linked.

Makoun would be an NRC replacement I think.

On Walker, has he ever played in the prem for Spurs?

I like the intentions of an attacking full back with pace but the negatives are a young player inexperienced at prem level pitched into a relegation battle.

I don't think so, but he has been superb for QPR by all accounts, and Warnock was saying he is prem quality at the weekend. Fullbacks are important, and away I would probably still play Carlos, but at home an attacking player on each side would give us a lot more options than we had tonight.

There is talk of Blackburn being after Charlie Adam from Blackpool. He would do us some good.

Alan Nixon's latest, from Tomorrow's Mirror:

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Blackburn-swap-Samba-for-Aston-Villa-defender-Collins-bring-back-Manchester-City-striker-Santa-Cruz-bid-for-Blackpool-playmaker-Adam-Villa-may-move-for-Spurs-defender-Walker-but-not-Chelsea-forward-Sturridge-article664929.html

Not sure what to make of that, I really like Collins spirit but there is no doubt that he has gone backwards under GH. I would like to see Sturridge here though, he's get more time on the field than at Chelsea and could give us a different option up front.

Yeah, Walker and Naughton looked the business at Sheffield. Surprised we weren't in for either under the previous manager then.
