Agreed. Or Michael Owen.

I'd rather have Omar Cumming. *Whistles 'A Hunting We Will Go'*

Guzan has never had a chance because of Friedel's consecutive appearance record. And was we ll and truly shafted in the Carling Cup final.

Wrong Brad going in my opinion if true.

Whatever comes from this transfer window, we'll know whether our board means business or not. Early signs suggest the latter, but let's see what happens.

regardless of whether we have money or not to spend im not sure as things stand if i would want to let Houllier have money in the the January transfer window

Well, it looks like we're stuck with Houllier for the time being and we will need strengthening. Clearly he'll have to go if we fail to show improvement. He'll certainly be sacked if we lose to Small Heath on top of a bunch of insipid performances, surely. Until then, it looks like we'll have a couple of his signings on the books. Quite what we'll get out of them, either with Houllier or following his departure, remains to be seen. Loyalty can be a costly business sometimes.

I'd rather a Keane than some nobody from Jamaica.

He had his big chance in the semi final and looked well out of his depth, Blackburn looked like scoring every time they got the ball in the box.

It appears the Forfana deal fell through based on wages not a medical

Strange as he's young and supposedly talented and you'd have thought the board could have seen this as a shrewd investment, the lad could be worth millions in a couple of years time

Looking at GH's comments and reading between the lines, it looks as though this lad wants far more than the comparable young players already at the club.  Paying a lot more to a young player can really upset the pay structure.  If this is the case, he must have wanted quite a bit more.  It is a bit different for a senior player when there are many other things to take into account to justify wages that are different to others.

Get Ronaldinho :-)

If Guzan is off then I guess we're signing a keeper. Wiedenfeller or McGregor?

Good. Patently not up to it in my book. The fact that Hull want him tells you all you need to know I think...

remember when we signed that nobody from Trinidad & Tobago? I can only imagine what this place would have been like had the internet existed back then. It's not a permanent deal, so how about we just give the bloke a chance and get behind him?

But if Houllier can't even attract French players he's worked with who can he attract (other than Pires)?

Does Houllier serve any  purpose, never wanted him as manager but thought he may at least be able to attract some decent players. Jeez what a fucking shambles we've become......

When did "fail a medical" become "can't attract"?

Who has said he failed a medical? Houllier didn't mention it.

That's what was said last night.

Although we did pay £12m for Downing when he was on crutches.
