To follow on...

Guzan
Luke, Lichaj, Collins, Cuellar, Clark
Bannan, NRC, Petrov, Hogg, Delph
Ashley (hopefully), Downing, Albrighton
Gabby, Heskey, Delfouneso

Could easily be the only players from our current squad who are still here next season.

There should be circa £20million in the kitty already from Milner and Gardner sales.

It's going to be a very exciting 18 months.

That selection would need an awful lot of addition and supplementing to do much more than avoid relegation, unfortunately.

It would not surprise me if GH make about 8-10 signings during the next two transfer windows. The majority of them will come next summer, of course.

I agree entirely. He did it at Liverpool and I dare say, he won't be afraid to do it again. I don't think the squad size will increase all that much, but we'll see a lot of ins and outs in the next 2 windows.

£20m + Gardner sale + £20m  (over 3 years) FX PRO deal + undisclosed Fiat deal. No summer tranfer deals (dont class Ireland he has done nothing) we must be in a healthy position to bring in some serious signings in January and then the summer .........

Am I the only one who doesn't get into a head spin regarding how much footballers get paid? It really doesn't bother me. They are paid what someone wants to give them. Yes it may noy be right but in an entertainment industry that we all pay into why not give the starts of the show the better salaries? He happens in all other popular forms of entertainment that has worlwide appeal. Whether in films, sport, or whatever.

I don't really care too much either. Especially now, really whats the difference to your or me if they earn 80k or 200k week?

It's the average players who get paid loads that annoys me, especially at Villa. Beye's inparticular as he's never contributed.

And it says it all about modern football Beye and Sidwell took pay cuts to join us, one from a team who'd just been relegated!

Yeah I meant to add we'd obviously need 6 ontop of that. But the money should be there and the wage bill will be alot smaller, I'm excited to see what Ged can do.

We could take advantage of Spam. Luke's a West Ham fan isn't he? And they need a right back.

I'd sell him too, not 'cos I don't rate him but because of age and wages.

Funny you should mention that name. I was talking football to someone a few months back and he said Tiote was just the player we needed. I'd barely heard of him at that point.

If the traditional turmoil happens at Newcastle this season then we could do worse.

Tiote has been really good for them. The only problem with Cissoko is he will have come from big clubs and will demand high wages.

Well I doubt GH would have managed to get a flight anywhere today, but if he's got a satellite hook up to get European channels then he can check out both Marseille & Lyon, who are playing now, after missing them on his scouting mission the other week.

Makoun making another start for Lyon, not bad for someone who was out of favour and looking for a move in January!
