What an absolute waste of skin. I'm disgusted.
I said he was a prick some weeks ago.

Proof positive that he doesn't want to knuckle down and simply doesn't give a shit.

Piss off Baldilocks.

This is just what I feared would happen with Ireland. I said when we were first linked that he has talent but a suspect attitude. I wish he'd have proved me wrong.

Ireland is not only a first class deluded dickhead, but also a bad apple that we need to move out asap. I doubt he has the sense to realise that no club of any note will touch him. Going to Liverpool my arse, he needs a serious dose of reality.

If his attitude in training is anything like that on matchday it's no wonder GH won't play him. Sadly people like Ireland don't ever listen reason or learn from their mistakes. It's a pity because he has the talent but no team can afford to carry a player.

If this is accurate he can fuck off, I was more than prepared to give him a chance but if he isn't prepared to get his head down, his form right and earn his wages then bollocks to him.

Quote
Source in the press quoting Ireland as saying he will even play for Ireland again if it helps to get him a move away from villa- I'll paste article later as I'm on iPod but he's quoted as wanting to leave villa in January and fee of around £4m. Seems by all accounts he does not want to be here- if so good riddance!

Quote
“I am seriously thinking of calling Trap (Giovanni Trapattoni) in the next few weeks and hopefully can work my way back into his plans,” Ireland said.

“If I can¹t get a move in January then I need to look at the summer and playing for Ireland will at least put me in the shop window.”

and Ireland told friends: “I am seriously thinking of calling Trap in the next few weeks and hopefully can work my way back into his plans.

“If I can¹t get a move in January then I need to look at the summer and playing for Ireland will at least put me in the shop window.”

They are not direct quotes from Ireland.

I don't mind putting my hands up now and saying I was all for us signing Ireland; I thought he was the type of player we really needed in our midfield. And it looks as if he's going to prove me wrong on that one. I think he's got the ability and hasn't been given a run of games - but then perhaps the manager, who works with him every day, has seen enough to know he doesn't deserve a run of games. I'm almost resigned to him moving on asap.

You've let me down, Stephen.

PS Those 'quotes' originated from a joke on Twitter some weeks ago, I believe.

i also thought ireland would be a great signing but it seems his attitude is not right and in hindsight it was a mistake signing him when we were managerless, the fact he was seen out drinking the same night he had missed a match ill says all we need to know about him really.

I was seriously happy about Ireland coming to Villa. But it is clear its been a disaster. Get rid asap as negativity is the last thing we need right now. If we can do some bargaining with a players club we are interested in lets get it done next month .......

what a complete knob. 5 months at a club and he's already given up. Makes Tevez look loyal.

Something of a waster about him I'm afraid, he hasn't really improved his attitude since the time that he pulled from the Irish squad saying his grandmother had died , when in fact she was in fine health- pity because he had the talent and ability but not the heart or determination.

Just another player who at the end of his career will look back and wonder what might have been!

Are you suggesting that a prestigious paper like the Mirror would not have thoroughly checked their source before attributing the quote to him?

as he seeks a January move to Merseyside.

I think Tranmere are OK for midfielders and the Friday night games might interfere with his nights out.

Would he get straight into the Ireland team, I dunno what the competition is like?  He did have a good run at the start of the season under KMac but was very ineffectual.

Correct, it should be a priviledge and an honour to play for your, he doesn't seem to see it like that.  Never wanted him in the first place, fair play to our club honouring the deal, very noble of them, but really we should have just said, sorry, change of circumstances £8 mill instead please.
