I'd like us to take a look at the following:

McGregor, Al-Habsi
Lescott, Agger, Bosingwa, Figueroa
Makoun, M'Vila, Rosicky, N'Zogbia,
Hoarau, Elmander

Are all realistic for us (I think). Most wouldn't command a big fee (N'Zogbia and M'Vila aside I think).
I don't see why Chelsea would let their first choice right-back go. Or why he would leave Chelsea to come to us.

I agree on Collins definitely. Dunne has been so poor this season that it is not worth the risk of keeping faith. He has enough left to retain his services but I'd have him strapped to the exercise bike and working very hard to regain fitness and get back into the team.

Lets see what the table says at the end of the season and the end of next season.

Do you seriously expect the table is going to stay the same? Us and Everton battling relegation?

Everton no, us yes.  Under Gh I expect to stay up but with 42 points or so which means a battle to stay up, albeit a successful one.  Then next season I expect more players the wrong side of 30 to join and for us to sell Ashley Young and finish bottom half again.  I never felt that bad under MON is all I am saying.

Not even in his 1st season where we didn't win in 12 games?

Agree lescott would be a great signing but I think the crazy wages he's on a city would be a problem- unless he was prepared to take a massive drop in wages.

I fully expect Liverpool to move for ash I'm January and maybe there will be some players as part of any deal - either way I think houllier realises he needs to bring in maybe 3 or more in January to improve things and I'd expect a lot of transfer action in and out next summer.

Houllier has a reputation of doing his deals early in the window so at least it will be an exciting period rather than waiting till late august!

You never know, maybe Lescott and even Milner are starting to realise that life at city - even with the huge wages - is not as good as playing every week and being a key component of the team.

He's on a free in the Summer isn't he? And they're cost cutting has shown recently they're reluctant to hand out big deals.

As for first choice, that's only cos of injuries to others. He's had a few himself but he's firmly behind Ivanovic at right back and arguably Ferreria as well.

Can't see Milner coming back here, we've only gone backwards since he's left and there'd be other takers. As much as I like the bloke I'm sure he'd take a a move to Tottenham or Liverpool before he signed up here again.

Not in a million years.

He has come back from long-term injury and played every game there since he was fit. Ivanovic is a centre-half who has been playing there while Bosingwa has been injured.

And out of all of their defenders, it's Ferreira who is the last choice for more or less every position.

Dream on about taking players who are used to Champions league every season. We have to try and attract players that might make the big teams bench. Forget it and concentrate on regular prem players from clubs the same size as us or smaller!

Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier is keen to sign former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse from Greek side Panathinaikos. (News of the World)

Fulham boss Mark Hughes is ready to take on Aston Villa in the bidding for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick and Tottenham striker Robbie Keane.

Hmm, I keep reading about this Cisse thing.  He wasn't good enough last time Houllier signed him.  If we do end up with 30 something has-beens (Keane et al) I will be really concerned.   As for Carrick, we'd be signing a slightly younger Petrov - outside of a short term thing, I'm not sure what the point of that would be.

A big 'yes' to Lescott.

Pt it on Youtube as he puts pen to paper -- you can put anything on Youtube.

Think we should all chill and wait until GH actually signs someone instead of giving made up crap credence.

Houllier wants Micheal Owen!

Oh fuck no!

Always injured, we can't shell out massive wages for a player who would be lucky to play 50% of the available games.
