The supply contract the club has with Nike must surely have a 'deliver by' clause in it and the non delivery must enable the club to trigger the termination of the contract for next season to be replaced by another supplier who is starting a new relationship with the club and as such would be eager to please its new client ( AVFC) - however were way too mamby pamby to do this and will let Nike walk all over us and that, I'm afraid is typical of our club - were a soft touch.

And your evidence is?

This is the second delay, and the club blamed Nike for the first one.

We must be losing a significant amount of revenue and credibility, something Nike should be apologising for, not the club.

Right. So we'll ignore all the praise the club's had for its on- and off-field business deals over the past four years shall we?

I think it's because they've been so good that the events of this summer have been such a let down.

Utter, utter incomptence by all concerned.

Just buy retro shirts people, much more stylish, no sponsers, and they don't date.

I am opposed to the changing of the shirts every year but on the whole i think the Nike shirts in both design and material have been terrific but if ever there was a shirt that  this should have happened to then its this seasons, i hate the lack of colour round the collar and the lazy design. Its crazy to think they wont be available til around Xmas but i dont necessarily blame the club itself for this, its Nike's fault more than anything. I do think the club itself could do more to make amends though because as people have said already the shirt will only be worn for another 4-5 months after its released - unless you're a sad case like me whos still wearing it twenty years later!

If it's only a small percentage of shirts then why can't they sell the ones that aren't shite?

It's a quality control thing by Nike. How can it be Villa's fault? Another excuse for idiots to display their ignorance. Just show some balls and come out with it and say you want different owners. It's getting very juvenile here. Poo bum willy.

Well Man United's home kit is already out, while their away kit is out next week.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's kits were out in July.

So tell me who the poor relation is in all this? I don't see anyone asking for alternative owners.

The thing is, Nike made good kits. They're the biggest and best sports brand in the world and it's good for our image to be associated with them.

On the other hand this is a complete joke.

It's a fine balancing act, but Nike are certainly making us feel inadequate, so fuck them.

I'm sorry, but what utter garbage. Twisting a legitimate debate to suit your own agenda. Calling people idiots? Tell me again, who's being juvenile?

What is poor service is that I phoned up Villa Direct this morning (around 11:00) to confirm that if I ordered today it would be here on the 16th.

I did ask about the rumours of a delay but these where flatly denied.

My boy is 6 on Friday and so far has 5 shirts - looks like his 6th will be late.

If I was FX Pro,  I would not be happy that our logos were not walking adverts by now.  If there was any contarct penalties for failure to promote the FX Pro brand,  then I hope Nike is liable.

That occurred to me as well.

Nike fucked up. Not Villa. No agenda. Rain, Sun or whatever falls in-between, I find the agonising over shirts rather silly.

I'd be pissed off if I was a local retailer though. Can't be good for local sport shop economy.

Idiots? Yes. Feel free to call me the same.

Juvenile? Yes I am and I love it. Piercing self-important pompous idiots with my own childish idiocy helps me.

If just 1.% of all football fans took their outrage over ephemeral into the sociology-political world  might be done.

It's hardly agonising.

Personally, I don't buy them (too old, fat, tasteful and broke), but I understand why people want them, and why they're so important revenue-wise to the club.

I also love the board.

It's really pompous (your word) to suggest people are only moaning about it because they can't bring themselves to say they want new owners. And juvenile (another one of your words). Perhaps they just want to buy the shirt?

Come on small rodent, nobody is calling for new owners over this but people have a right to not be happy about the shirt issue- I think the departure of Steve stride was quite sad as I'm sure he could have added a lot of experience to randy's team , but this is a Nike issue not villas fault in this case.
