GH is not going to be in charge for the Bolton game.

He must be waiting for his replica shirt from the club shop!

Just caught the tail end on BBC i -player - I must confess I was not overly impressed. Is it me or did he look like a rabbit in the headlights of a car?
Mentioned liverpool how many times?
We still don`t know when he will be available to manage.
Also said something about his contacts in the game -  he stated it was not mentioned in his interview etc.
Finally he said something in French at the end regarding Benitez - anyone know what that was about?
(Champions League?)

He came across very well I thought

I'm trying to be objective here and I do think that, in essence, what Houllier was saying was that when you are trawling someone's wife, seagulls are better than sardines.

I couldn't disagree more vctm, I thought he came across really well and looked excited by the job. (although I'm not sure I've seen all the interview as sky kindly switched to some rubbish once their reporter had finished monopolising the conference).

He looked to me like a man with a point to prove can not wait to get going.

The fans are most important, they are passionate, vocal and fantastic

I was neither downhearted nor enthused by the PC. He spoke well, said the right things about the club, didn't patronise the fans and was gushing about the board (well, Randy and Faulkner anyway). The issue of transfers in January was rather fudged, but thats the norm really in this sort of thing.

On the positive side he was very relaxed, had time to laugh and joke and seemed to convey a man happy with his lot. Rather different from the rather intense days of MON.

However, the notice period and unclear situation regarding him taking charge is not a good thing. WM did cut away from the PC after 20 minutes so this may have been covered but I like a manager, when taking charge, to have his backroom staff lined up and ready to go. In this case they could work under the direction of Houllier until he is allowed to assume control. The situation, on Monday at the very least, with Kevin McDonald in charge is far from ideal.

Although I still have my reservations, this afternoons events have not caused me any serious doubt about Houlliers ability and I believe his in more than capable of maintaining the Status Quo, beyond that is where my doubt creeps in.
