I also keep getting that Craig David Bo Selecta (sic) song in my head.......Houl-li-er.......

I have an even worse one in mine.

Sussudio by Phil Collins (or was it Genesis), except with Hou Hou Houllier instead of Su Su Sudio

Well there you have it. A name for a French Poodle. Hou Hou.

"Hou are you, Hou Hou, Hou Hou"

The Who - yes. Phil Collins - for the love of God, NO!

Half of what I say is meaningless

Welcome Gerard.

All I really want to see is this;

a) The players give their all on the pitch
b) For us to improve our movement off the ball when not in possession.
c) For the players to have belief in themselves that they are good enough to win something
d) To take the cup competitions seriously

and a small gripe of mine..

Acknowledge the supporters at the end of the game - not just a quick clap from the half way line and then trudge off.
Attending games is getting bloody expensive and the option nowadays to watch it online or on tv or down the pub is often far more tempting than travelling to the likes of Noocastle at stupid o'clock in the morning when on tv. The supporters should come right upto the fans and acknowledge the support, win, lose or draw.

Good luck

12 months down the line and we have 8 French Internationals in the side, the fans will be singing "Hou let the frogs out? Hou Hou Hou Houllier" ;)

Only kidding and I`m not being Xenophobic or racist  - my French teacher at school was French  :o

I'm not one to defend MON whatever, but to be fair, i thought he was quite good in that sense.

I just pray we don't hear the cringing, small time, childish, extremely embarrassing chant of "Gerard, give us a wave".

It's no wonder MON had such a low opinion of the Villa fans.

The voice of reason that is Phil McNulty on Twitter:

"If Houllier is appointing Patrice Bergues as assistant that is good news for Villa. Had his biggest successes at Liverpool with Bergues.

I quite like the idea of having 8 French internationals at Villa. The club shop will have a nightmare though knowing where to place all those accent aigu, accent grave and accent circonflexes on little Johnny's number 17 shirt.

I'd go one step further and suggest that players wave an apology to the crowd (as in, "Sorry I shanked that sitter. My bad").

Perhaps we could do a regular piece like BFR with the microphone before that Crystal Palace game.

GH: "Hello everyone. An important win today. I am sorry that Sidwell played like a ****** again".
