'H'. Just 'H'.
James Bond had 'M', we'll have 'H'.

It does have a certain panache to it ....

Yeah.  He could get whoever his assitant is and three girls and start a pop group.  Maybe they could base their first number around a line dancing theme?

You seem quite familiar with the back catalogue of Steps there, John.

Take the Salifou chant and change it to....Gerry Houll
I've had this track in my head most of the morning and have obviously been substituting voyage with Gerard. It's done my sense of optimism no end of good!

Le MON est mort. Vive le Gerard!

That's a great slice of Euro disco, that track.

I'm not too keen on this:

http://www.lefigaro.fr/football-clubs-etrangers/2010/09/04/02017-20100904ARTSPO00426-houllier-vers-aston-villa.php

Quote

Unless I'm mistaken (and I probably am), that translates as:

"Aston Villa is not a club of the same level as Liverpool" he said. "Let's be objective and honest, it is a club which, for me, finds itself between seventh and twelfth place. It is above all a historic club, which has won the European Cup. It is a club which a very good set up, a good team, and which demands just one thing: to progress year on year". Why choose a mid table English club after having tasted a higher level in the past? "I had other offers, but this seemed to me the most interesting in terms of environment, of work conditions"

Hmm.

Maybe he tried to be honest, rather than risking to appear Houllier-than-thou.

I'm rather heartened by the cautious welcome that is being afforded to our new boss by the fans.

He appears to be few people's first or even third choice and is something of a step into the unknown, but in the main he is being supported and I think this will be reflected in his first game in charge at home.

I'm quite proud that we haven't replicated the modern trend of greeting a managerial appointment like the second coming, complete with all the hyperbole and hoopla associated with the Premier League. Usually shown live on Sky Sports News, hosted by Jim "never knowingly understated" White.

It also means that supporters look less foolish if it all goes tits up.

Gerard Houllier also scans rather beautifully into "Joe le taxi" (if you're a bit casual with the pronunciation of his surname) and the prospect of Vanessa Paradis recording our cup final song means I'm increasingly seeing the benefits of this appointment.

I worked for the company that did the kids' programme Big Barn Farm and the music department had the idea of using that track as a reworking of the theme tune:

Big Barn Farm
When the cow says moo, you milk her!

So blatantly stealing their idea and yours, I came up with:

Hou-li-er
When the crowd says boo, you sack him!
