My problem with Phil Thompson is that I don't think he's very good. I'd be disappointed to think that KMac will get overlooked in favour of Phil Thompson. As far as I can tell, they haven't worked together for six years, so I don't particularly see the need for them to work together again at Villa. To clarify: I'm not against Ged, but certainly not keen on Thompson.

Charlie Nicholas is the only ex-Clyde player I dislike. He is also the only Arsenal fan who seems to love it whenever Manure/Chelski/Spurszzz score.
