Ireland is a very tidy player, good close control and weighting with his passes.

Not bad for an 8 Million make weight!

Now Gabby has had to go off the system should change to more of a 451 with Ireland playing closer to the front and Young and Marc back on the wings. It will give us more balance and an outlet which we need sometimes.

Thing about davies is he hits the panic button so quickly, got the ability but not the temperament to be a god cb

That's the thing, put him under any pressure, or even put him in possession and he looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

When he needs to make a challenge, though, he frequently pulls it off.

All in all, not really up to it.

He can look a pub player. That's his problem. I also think he's a bit of legend in his own head.

On a side note, he's playing. So can the RL is a wanker conspiracy theorists lay off now.

I think it was league performances only, so the conspiracy theorists will keep going.

Great defensive midfield challenge by NRC, well chased back.

And welcome back to the team squad Nigel.

Wasn't it 60 games though? He's only played 37 games in the league so if it was that he could have played on Sunday. I think he is over 60 now so the useless shit is due for a new contract.

It actually looks like quite a decent crowd tonight.

Almost went myself - work ten mins away, decided to go just before leaving, stepped out into the pissing rain and opted not to.

Not that great really - odd flashes from Ireland apart, it is all too reminiscent of last season for me - his good work is almost immediately undone when he gives the ball to any of Reo-Coker, Cuellar or Heskey.

I thought the most telling moment of the first half was when there was a shot of Randy Learner looking up at the Upper Trinity which is almost completely empty. Penny for your thoughts sir!
